Almost an April Fool
Your smile warms me like the sun
I can feel your love in your smiles and kind words
Nothing comforts me like your happy face
My life feels perfect and I know everything is right
I open my eyes
And for a moment I think I can walk in your room and there you’ll be
Then it hits me
The knife twists
And I want to cry
And die again
So, can anyone name anything worse than dreaming and thinking a loved one is alive, than waking up and realizing they're not? I swear, if I could, I would stab my own subconscious.
