What are warnings? At first I thought they were just things that mods say, and add you to a list of warned people, but I have seen mods threatening to give warnings, which is rather like warning people about giving them warnings, which I don't understand at all. Is it something people can view? Is there a certain number of warnings you can get before you're booted out? Can you view the number of warnings you have? Please help. I checked the FAQ, too, so if it's in there, shame on me.

I don't know about vBulletin, but maybe it's something that only mods/mods +s/smods/admins can see.

I'm just guessing.. from other forums, like invisionfree.com. But I honestly don't know. Maybe just +s, smods, and admins or something.

Essentially warning you that you will be warned is your unofficial chide. Actually warning you is your official chide.

It's basically like this. If a mod warns you about something you did and tells you not to do it again, you'll be observed. If you repeat the same thing and cause further problems, you're giving the mod/admin the right to take actions against you. Namely a ban. Depending on what you've done, a number of days is set on how long you're banned from the forum. Rarely do we use permanent bans unless it's on someone who's evading a previous ban or is spamming and trolling to cause havoc. It's also rarely that it occurs on someone who's been banned times before since we don't get many of those kinds of people anymore.
