Was the Elite Four a pushover in this generation?

Virtual Chatot

Circa 2006
The only problem I had with the Sinnoh E4 was Cynthia

The rest of them were fairly easy, but...

She was the first one of them to take out my Dialga, which I used as a front to defeat the first 4 of them, and then all I had to do was revive it and I won.

Not that big of a problem, but still bugged me

Well, i think they were all a pushover, considerring my highest level was a level fifty when i beat them (an Uxie), and i beat them first time too!

I found the DP E4 dissapointingly easy actually. :( The only leader I actually had to fight more than once in the whole game was the first gym leader.

I only had a problem with Lucians Bronzong, it killed my: Dialga, Azelf, Uxie, my whole team, thank you revives and full restores, everything else didn't touch me

Yessssss, master!
They were more of a challenge if you faced them with low level pokemon, like level 48 and 50. Still:
Aaron: Who uses a Beautifly and expects to win? Drapion was the only semi-threat
Bertha: Wow. She's just sad. My Roserade OHKO'd all of her pokemon easily, and it was LV 48
Flint: OK, you can't blame him for not having many fire pokemon, because there were only two you could choose from.
Lucian: FINALLY a challenge. Still, my Weavile pwned her.
Cynthia: Nice to see a champion with different type pokemon again. Gary was the only one before her. Garchomp and Lucario were the only problems.
Overall: WAY too easy.

It was.. tough, I had to say. Lucian and Cynthia were just trouble for my team. (which, at that moment, was Infernape, Luxray, Staraptor, Manaphy and Dialga) Damn Garchomp of hers.

I always thought the 3rd Generation we're challanges.
But with the D/P Elite Four having pokemon slightly 8 levels higher than R/S/E's Elite Four gives me a hard time.
Now the only time I'll fight an Elite Four is when one of my Pokemon is Lv99.

I thought that the R/S/E elite four was much easier then these guys but I think the first Elite four (FR/LG) was the hardest and most fun.

silverdragonlaura

Go with the current
Aaron: waaaay too easy!
Bertha: again, waaaay too easy!
Flint: still easy to beat... but you didn't have all fire types! (lame!)
Lucian: you were somewhat hard to beat.... good defence!
Cynthia: same as Lucian. Ditch the roserade! It kills you!

fishyfool

And a nice chianti
Emerald's E4 is a great deal harder than DP's. Stoopid Milotic of Wallace's. Stoopid Cheating Kingdra of Drake's.

Garchomp would have been more of a threat if my Gengar wasn't semi-trained in defense. Having those EVs saved it from Dragon Rush, allowing it to, god forbid, wall.

Yea...none of them actually poses a big problem, IMO. Cynthia is fine, but...
Think of Wallace and Steven...

Psyblade

Inspiration Seeker.
Generally, they were just tough at my first-third tries. Later, a 65 Gardevoir owned the lot of them...

Aaron: I don't want to blow my own horn...but the only one who wasn't KOed was Drapion...because of his strange type input...

Bertha: Easy as heck...though Hippodawn could ruin some stragaties...

Flint: Infernape a little quick, the rest pwned to crisp...though I must say a nice move-pool...almost every Elite Four member has a good movepool...

Lucian: A challange...Bronzong and Mr. Mime were pests...
Although I like him, I couldn't help mocking him by sending a pure psychic type at his pokemon...a few calm minds and then Psychic (I could've used shadow ball) and they were at his feet.

Cynthia: Cool outfit...but, not a very cool battle...I was so excited when I first saw her. "Oh, she must be ready for a good battle." but all her pokemon seemed to lengthen the match...The best was her Garchomp...Scary thing...

Overall: Mid-hard for 50s...hit the 60-70s and they're crisp.

I wish Ninty would give them upgrades...or give us the ability to train at Gym leaders for a re-match...

Tensa Zangetsu!
i think it was all extremely easy until the 4th and 5th battle, then it got barely challenging

pokekoi

The Poke' Wiz Kid
yeah dude there hard for me and yes you read the tence right i'm still trying to beat them so i'd say the hardest was between this generation and 3rd generation FR and LG
