Waste of Pokeballs Thread

Have you ever tried catching a Pokemon for some reason other than if it's shiny or legendary, that you know you could catch another time, but you wouldn't give up? Post your stories ^_^

I sometimes do that when I'm EV training. If a level 27 Clamperl survives an attack from a level 80 Hitmonlee, you know it has good stats.

I sometimes prefer to get males over females (I must be sexually biased or something), and have had times when I'd encounter nothing but females.

That's about as close as I'll get to this...

Sometimes, yes. I just wasted a bunch on the Snorlax East of Vermillion a couple minutes ago... but I was looking for a specific nature, so there's my excuse. Other times I'll do it when the Pokemon--common or not--has a higher level than average for that location (like a level 6 Mankey West of Viridian, at the start of the game).

I just wasted a load of balls on a Steelix because I needed it in my Pokédex. I still didn't catch the damn thing, and it fainted three of my Pokémon. Oh well.

You can't catch Steelix. You probably mean Onix or you used a cheat device.

In GS, I got obsessed with Delibird, the most insanely difficult non-legendary to catch, even harder than Snorlax. The thing would run away, break out of twenty Ultra Balls with 1 HP left, Paralyzed. Skarmory was also quite difficult.

I once wasted a lot of Pokéballs on Raltses, Shuppets, and Plusles, because they're pretty hard to come by. I have like six of each.

Skarmory for my challenge. Hated wasting 30,000 things just to get it. It didn't want to be caught. But you are now mine Steagle(its name).

dont get me started. i wasted 50 pokeballs on aritcuno. then with the next 2 birds it took, not 3, not 2, but 1 ultra ball. it was SO annoiying

I remember that I tried to catch a shiny Snorlax on Firered. The poor thing ended up with about 3 hp and I froze it with an ice beam..... I trew a Master ball(Traded it from Leafgreen)...... I turned off the game beocuse it was a stupid idea and never saw the thing again*sniff*.....*sniff*..... I'll get you one day Snorlax!!!!!!!

I once remember using all of my Pokèballs trying to catch a Skarmory...the only Pokèmon I had around its level was my Gardevoir and my Blaziken. I had, like...a whole bunch of Great Balls, a few Ultra Balls, and several Pokè Balls...and I STILL didn't catch the darn thing...So I gave it a Blaze Kick to the face and left.
