Ways to keep FR/LG fresh?

I'm sure it's happened to everyone once in a while. You've defeated the elite 4 countless times, trained your pokemon to uber greatness and caught all the wild pokemon that you can be bothered to catch. But what do you do after all this? What if you want to keep your glorious file and reject the route so many people have taken called restarting? I, for example, am starting a sort of pilgrimage where I take my starter, deposit all other items and pokemon and start from Pallet town, reliving my journey only using the pokemon I catch on this 'pilgrimige'.

Basiclly, how do you keep FR/LG fresh?

Yes it does seem somewhat unfulfilling being too powerful and there's nothing to do except run around like a headless chicken looking for something to do.

What I might do is get some weak Pokemon around Lv5 and 'restart' the journey like you said, using the Vs Seeker although the trainers may be significantly tougher than when you first fought them.

I trade the Pokemon to Emerald and restart the game.

The other thing I do, that is fun for awhile, is to do the type of "pilgrimage" that you suggest, only using a starter of my choice bred to level 5. So I could start out from Pallet Town with a level 5 Lapras, or Larvitar, or Dratini if I wanted to.

yes it does get boreing being the most powerful trainer in the game.

only if there were groups for pokemon fans in each state or diffrent countrys so you could get to gether like once a month and test your skills and have little tournaments for prizes, like some cards or a rare poke.

now that would really test your skills.

cool, I'm a Earth Trainer :D

Trained your PKMN.... Try and beat TT in less than 5 minutes....

But, I disgress...The gameplay is 8 years old, 11 for Japanese players...

I just enjoy trying to raise EVERY pokemon to lvl100, of course not all of them but finel evolutions ( I would dread a lvl100 magikarp o_O)

I start by tryong to achieve Lv. 100 on almost all of my Pokemon. Then I trade every 1st Generation Pokemon to a different cartridge, but keep my 2nd Generation Pokemon. I then pretty much restart with my 2nd Gen Pokemon, and go throughout Kanto with them.

It's pretty fun, actually. Too bad you can't use the V.S. Seeker indoors, or I'd be whooping Brock's butt with my Remoraid. :D

I definately try to train at least my party pokemon to Lv.100 then I usually do what Civic Avenger does. I trade all my pokemon to the opposite game, then start over. :/ It does get kind of repeative though.

Puff... That is fun, like I played a Johto adventure in Ruby, and used Sunflora and Charizard as my two main starters in Sapphire...

You know, you could trade all your almightys to a different cartaridge, then restart the game. Except this time, take a monotype challange. Try to go thru the game using only one type, prefrebly w/out your starter.

take this for example

In the Gold/Silver/Crystal Rescent Happenings thread, Kthleen has done a rock mono, her team being
Golem,
Rhydon
Corsola
Sudowoodo

And some various HM slaves and breeding tools. It took her about 2 weeks, if I remember correctly. It;s really fun, I did a Bug type. It was really, really challangeing. try the E5 with a Butterfree, Pinsir, Scyther, and Spinirak. Of sourse I don't know how this will turn out in Red/Green. Probably better cause of the versus seeker.

You don't truly notice power until you have lost it.

If you did this "Pilgrimage" you could also train up your Pokemon that take a while to train. You could also battle with friends if you have any to do so with.

This is what I do:

I breed two of my Pokemon - one male, one female, or Ditto, whatever, and I send all of my Pokemon to the PC. Then, I start the journey all over again, making it more fun, being that you have to catch and relive the experience. You'll have egg moves, but you cannot try to get benefits - just go with the flow.

OR...

I just restart the game!

Well.. what I normally do it just keep training with every single type of pokemon and play with them on colloseum.
