ITT: kids who do not understand Capitalism and Communism

The definitions in the OP are wrong (incomplete) for a start... How does V_S manage to link to Wikipedia yet fail to read the articles himself??

My $0.02:
* Utopia is free market Capitalism within a Libertarian state
* Laissez-faire is the only fair
* Communism fails in every guise

I am willing to elaborate on any of the above if there are serious replies (and/or if I feel like it).

I smell a burning soviet flag , actualy communism is a good system on paper but fails to work in reality because humans want more then others that is our nature, however what you say is bad since there will be small elite and everyone else will be as rich as the average african.

Capitalism is slavery and it creates slavery as well. It was because of capitalist who want money that they bought and sold slaves in order to make them work and make even more money with no pay. A ton if not all corrupt rich folks are capitalist not communist. The only people who fear communism are the rich since they won't be allowed to make so much while the poor who are slaves already anyways, wouldn't mind communism.

All in all you can't claim slavery is communism because all other ism are just as bad.
1.) Slavery is not a necessity in capitalist societies. Slavery to the government is in communism.
2.) Ever haer of George Soros?
3.) No, the people that fear communism are those that value their essential liberites over government cheese.

radical conservative Nazism
The Nazis weren't conservative. They were the national socialist party in Germany. Fascism/Nazism is just another strain of Marxism, just like socialism and communism.

I think that the idea of communism has already effected the current society of America.I don`t like the idea of communism but It`s slowy progressing in America.I thought that America was founded on patriotism not the idea of supremicy of racies. But to make this thing sort,America is living in a Communistic idea of society.
It depends on your definition of patriotism. The US was founded on the ideals of small government and immutable liberties, both of which are incompatible with any form of Marxism.

To be fair, hardly any of that is truly your choice, no matter what system you're in. A lot of stuff is determined based on you're parents, their income, where you live, etc. And you really can't "choose" where you work. You just gotta work hard and hope someone'll hire you. You can't choose how much you make either, that's determined by whoever you work for. (Well, most jobs, anyway) Where you live, the car you drive, and the stuff you buy are also largely going to be influenced by the job you have.

Capitalism won't force you into a certain job given to you by the government, yes. But it's silly to think that you really have a choice in anything.
While you can't suddenly decide to be a millionare, you can, in fact, work toward that goal, so you do have choice, but at the cost of putting more work into things. There's always the option of either saving money or taking out a loan in order to get education needed for a higher paying job. And there are people who work themselves out of poverty (like the guy on which the movie The Pursuit of Happyness is based on). You paint capitalism as a system in which people are bound into one job with no hope of escape, which is far from the truth. There are always opportunities if you're willing to work toward them.

Both don't work in their pure form. That's all there is to it.

Communism does not work in the fact that when put in competition with other economies, (like capitalism) it gets completely crushed. Then everyone has subpar lives.

Capitalism on the other hand is based on "Social Darwinism". Survival of the fittest in business. This does not work because all other people who do not succeed get crushed and have no one to help them out. So some live the rich life while others are basically dead. (i.e. Rockefeller and an average citizen in the early 1900s.)

The best way is to get a balance of the both. Instead of letting the people get squandered in capitalism, use some aspects of communism to help those people out. This is the greatest possibility for everyone to be happy. Problem is, this is only a theory. The balance between the two are hard to find, almost impossible. It is based on personal opinion, and that is why Democrats and Republicans exist.

First of all, I'd argue that communism in of itself leads to a subpar quality of life because its leader becomes corrupt, and government can't do anything efficiently. Simply put, government cannot be trusted to look after people's necessities - it is far better to let everyone look after themselves because they know what they need.

People say capitalism doesn't work in its pure form because, quite honestly, there are few modern examples where it has been tried in its true form. Furthermore, Social Darwinism does work in promoting the overall health of the economy. Yes, there will be failure, but it is better to let the dying businesses fail rather than prop them up artificially, because the latter only serves to squander public funds. The people that fail are not "dead", though. In theory, there's nothing stopping them from getting another job and saving up enough money to try again with a different business venture. Sure, you might say "but the unemployment's bad and there are no jobs". Well, yes, but that's the nature of the business cycle, and, if left alone, the problem will soon rectify itself. You need to allow small crashes to happen to prevent a bubble from forming, because if said bubble bursts, you end up with a major crash. Capitalism has its ups and downs, but communism gets stuck in a constant "down", because of the problems I mentioned above.

No, a balance of both is not a good idea, for this reason: once the government gets a taste of the power of a socialist/communist system, it will inevitably continue growing (slowly, albiet, but it will happen), until one day you wake up and you're living under total communism. Look at what's happened in the US. We were founded upon the principals of limited government and self reliance (pretty much pure capitalism), but eventually someone had the brilliant idea of, "hey, let's use government money to help the poor worker and expand government" (the latter of the two is arguably the real motive behind this - but this would lead to your mixed system). Over time, people kept demanding more and more stuff from the government because they fell entitled, and the government all too gladly steps in so that more and more become dependant (read: slaves) to the government's entitlements. Now look where we are. The government owns the banks and the auto industry, has all sorts of entitlement programs like Social Security, Welfare, Medicare, etc., and now has its grubby regulatory hand in the healthcare industry, none of which were originally intended to happen at even the mixed system stage.

^That, right there, is demonstrably false. Nowhere in The Gosphel does it once mention forced redistribution of wealth. Not to mention that communism is strongly anti-religious.

My point wasn't necessarily that it was bad, just that it's impossible to have a stable mixed system. You either have a free market system, a government run system, or something moving (albeit slowly) in one direction or the other.

Now, in my opinion government expansion of power is a bad idea, because I'm a big believer in individual liberties, and generally:
Government power = 1 / individual liberties
But if someone really believes it's in their best interest to sacrifice individual liberties for individual security, I'm not stopping them from moving to a Eurosocialist country like France. Just don't demand I do the same.
