Well, your cartirdge will forever be marked as uneligible for Nintendo events, so I guess go for it and cross your fingers.

Hmmmm. Use it maybe, but save before you leave incase something goes wrong on the Island. I don't know if that will help, because I don't know much about cheating devices.

ima gonna smile now!
i'd say go for it, as Evanji Axu said, you won't be able to participate in compititions, so you might as well go for it. Mew, or no Mew, your choice.

Forever? I thought the entire save file is erased when resetting, or does the GS/AR change the internal program?

And how are you going to do that? You have to do the hide and seek game first.. so getting one is a pain.

I know, but you'd have to be lucky enough to get a shiny one in the first try. Or do the thing over and over and over again.. I mean, SR'ing is a pain, even without the game..

i'd say go for it... its either Legend or no Legend... Its like a once in a lifetime chance... ^^; but anyways i'd do it...

Hes just gonna use a shiney pokemon cheat, to get a shiny mew -_-

And go for it, and since you will never go to any events get a cheating device of your own and get all the island maps and suck to get all the legendaries, might as well.

I dont have a GS or AR.Exept a AR for playstation 2 but that doesnt count. And if i did i would of used it by now.Ive done 2000 SR.When i get the shiny mew ill take a pic of my gameboy during the battle with the blue mew and that prove i dont have a GS or AR.

The closest you can get to a complete reset is to use (if i remember correctly) up+select+B at the title screen, But that prolly won't help. All Game systems feature a boot sector memory that keeps track of devices/games used on it so that if it needs repaired, the memory log can be looked at to give a repairman an idea of what is wrong with the system..... This however is not for the game. Some games feature something similar but can usually be completely wiped with the title reset command. It might be cool on your side to have a mew, but i personally wouldn't wanna take the chance of having a mew glitch (legendaries have troubles obeying when obtained by cheat methods) or risk not being able to compete in an event. I don't care about legendaries that much. What you do is your opinion however.

go for it. You might get Mew. Besides, what's the worst thing that could happen?

But its cheated so whats the point of having it.
Actually if you insist to keep it then send it to another game and start a new file, once you beat the leauge trade it over to your new file.
I think that does not cause problems.

But he didn't cheat himself. I mean, I don't think the memory log gets transferred via record mixing. So he can catch the thing, then trade it to another game, then restart, and trade it back.. And it shouldn't be listed in his memory log, right?

LoL, now you aren't making sense. What do you mean by SR? I mean Soft Reset (pressing start, select, A and B at the same time), that way you can go into the battle, then reset if it's not a shiney.

But I guess you can just look for him, then save when you are about to battle him and just SR away :)
