I have mixed feelings about there being less focus on traditional battles. On one hand it does allow more chances for non violent plot lines to come out but on the other, strategic battles seem like a big part of the Pokemon legacy.

I don't mind the change most of the time since sometimes simplicity can be a good thing, but I dislike it when certain battles become predictable due to the use of Z-Moves disguised as strategy, or the occasional gag ending.
