I guess I'm being a bit childish here, but I guess I was more tense while watching CG than actually enjoying it. I can't help but feel this is literally an otaku-fied repeat of the War of Independance.

There sure were a lot of deaths in this one. I pretty much watched this because I "accidentally" spoiled myself with the most notorious event of the series - Lelouch's death.

What I'm pondering at the most is what happened after Lelouch died? Since it was Zero/Suzaku who killed him I wanna know what happened to the Britannians. Were they forced out of Japan or do they still control it? I'm pretty much indifferent as long as Britannia still rules. There were also some spin-off movies but I don't see any dubs for those.

Noticed a few asspulls from this series too. For example I swear Nunnally was toast when that Fleiya caught her in the explosion. How exactly did Schnizel save her?


Welp, glad I got this out of the way. It was enjoyable at some parts, but deep down I was bugged about the whole Independance thing. Order -> Freedom.



I hadn't seen last weeks Dandy since I saw a lack of a certain method which I assume everyone here prefers to view their anime. So I ended up watching a stream.

This episode was probably the weirdest yet. Welcome to your average science lesson on plants and vegetation![/spoil]

Next: Baccano!, and Initial D at some point - that'll probably take a while to go through. Word of God also said Eva 3.0 was due this month, I need to watch that soon.

SYD*10 was a bit frustrating to watch. Almost every event that got set up wasn't resolved properly. They never finished cleaning up, the sleepover got cut off right when it was starting, Tsuda didn't figure out a way to stop feeling so tired, and we didn't get to see how the badminton game ended. The only thing to have an ending was the Halloween event. I know this is the absolute wrong show to try and find a story in, but when things get left half-finished like that it bugs me.

Mawaru Penguindrum- 3/24 (Re-watching)

Well, I'm slowly trudging trough Kara no Kyoukai now and enjoying it a lot so far. You really can't beat Ufotable, Yuki Kajiura and Kalafina

Recently I got Mawaru Penguindrum and Girls und Panzer on Blu-ray.

Girls und Panzer is literally just the US BD discs in a different case. And now I can say for sure that the bad dubs aren't the only problem I have with Sentai. The GuP dub isn't all that bad but I still much prefer the subbed version. Unfortunately the subtitles on the release are ugly and way bigger than they should be. And for some weird reason they leave 'Sensha-do' untranslated even though the dub (And the episode titles) translate it to 'Tankery'.

Fortunately the Mawaru Penguindrum BD is authored by Siren Visual so the subtitles are a good size and the terrible English dub is off by default (Plus I got a penguin fridge magnet for pre-ordering it early). At the moment I'm watching the English dub. It's far from the worst thing Sentai have put out but it's still mediocre at its very best and a disgrace to a show that deserved much better.

However, I still have hope for the future of English dubbing all because of one nice surprise

NIS America Offers Toradora! Blu-rays With English Dub

I wasn't going to double dip even if the Blu-ray came out over here but the English dub sold it for me... assuming it even comes out over here
