Samurai Flamenco was fun. It was an interesting experience I don't know I'll have again for a long time.

Wake Up, Girls! was cute. Slowed down in the middle, then picked back up by the last few episodes. There may or may not be a second season, which I don't mind either way.

Less said about Mahou Sensou, the better.

[spoil]Well, that was disappointing.

I watched DKD because I thought it would be, if not nearly as good as DxD. But I wasn't satisfied by the end of it. The first two or three episodes were very promising, but then I felt let down at around episode 6.

But as it turned out, I didn't fully understand the whole thing during the whole final-battle phase. And I don't think it's because I'm rather slow on watching anime these days (Vidya gaems always gettin' in ma' way).

Akuro Sai just screamed generic harem protagonist. He looked like a total badass on the front cover as seen here, I thought he'd be a better protagonist than Issei. He didn't act all that tenacious despite being the Demon King, he was more of a "hero" than a demon. You'd expect him to have SOME villanous traits, but I guess being the protagonist it would've been hard to write off.

But the one thing that let me down the most is Etou. In Episode 2, she clearly states that her idea is to enslave Akuro and have him serve her. When I heard this, my jaw literally hit the floor. I was staring at one of my favorite character traits, and I wasn't going to wait to see what would happen. But then all of a sudden, once she and a few others get into the dungeon where Peterhausen was slumbering, she suddenly turns into generic submissive biatch. At first I wanted to believe this was just an act so she could then backstab Akuro and the other somehow and use his power for her own desires (which is clearly stated in MAL's summary on her), but then it was actually genuine.

Though the series did have it's good moments. Gotta love the bit where Akuro first meets Eiko Teruya - that was just brilliant. And the soundtrack was pretty good as well.

Welp, I watched a harem show, thought it was gonna be good, then felt let down. I'm giving free laughing tickets to anyone who reads this.[/spoil]

Oughta catch up on Pokémon XY at some point, despite being reluctant to. But I should get through all the latest eps before they pile up any further.

Buddy Complex was mediocre. Not too bad, but not too good, either

I liked Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta. I just wish it wasn't left so open-ended. And the heights of Ari and Kal felt really off in this episode, too

Gonna miss Seki-kun a LOT. That was one of the best shows of the season. Simple, fun comedy. Guess I'll read the manga if there's no chance of another season.
Looking forward to Space Dandy coming back. It would have sucked if this was it. Great season finale though.

Seems like the winter season was split down the middle of what was good, and what wasn't good, though a few straddled that line (such as Nourin and Buddy Complex). Hopefully the spring season will be better.

Completely off-topic but wow How I Met Your Mother had a terrible ending.

I liked it, but the last like 5~ minutes ruined it. And IGN gave it a 9.7. Just thought I'd throw that out there.


Back on topic, anyone have any new anime they are excited to see air in the next week or so? I personally am most excited for Date A Live II. Absolutely loved the first season, so hopefully the second proves to be equally if not better.

List of anime I'm watching this next season though only half I'll watch consistently probably:

• Haikyuu!! - Sports (which I need to get into more), and it's volleyball. Bonus points for guys playing volleyball. Expecting beefcake.
  
  
• Hitsugi no Chaika - Sounds interesting. Anything with a sorceress I'm all for.
  
  
• Isshuukan Friends - Feels. I want more feels. Also sounds like I might be able to relate, maybe.
  
  
• JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders - Because it's going to be a better adaptation than what the OVAs were. I enjoyed the dub, but now I'll watch it subbed. Should be interesting.
  
  
• Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara - Reminds me of NouCome, but with flags.
  
  
• Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - Because magic. Better not be a disappointment like Mahou Sensou.

• Ping Pong The Animation - Saw the live-action movie years ago in Japanese class, and I loved it (but I didn't know then it was based off a manga). I was happy to learn it got an animated adaptation. Will probably be my big one this season since I look forward to it the most.
