Whoa, hello.
As far as I can gather, Xionea, Hestia's popularity is solely down to the ribbon that magically supports her breasts. The premise hasn't really grabbed me, so I haven't watched the show in question, though.
I finished Maria the Virgin Witch and Parasyte from last season. Maria the Virgin Witch was an easy series to enjoy because the characters were so likeable, but I wasn't so enamoured with the story. Parasyte was stronger on intensity and personal struggles than philosophy, but as a general rule I don't like horror, and I'm glad Parasyte bucked that trend!
Haven't finished Durarara x2 part 1 yet. It's just a bit sluggish in places - it kind of reminds me of Attack on Titan with all the intensity-sapping flashbacks.
Assassination Classroom - 11/22
Baby Steps 2 - 1/?
Durarara!! x2 - 9/36
MY love STORY!! - 1/24
Plastic Memories - 1/?
The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan - 1/16
The Story of Saiunkoku - 20/39
As deeply political as The Story of Saiunkoku is, it feels very personal too, and that helps me understand and care about the politics. Admittedly, it's a bit slow, but it's purposeful rather than aimless. I'm enjoying it a lot!
Assassination Classroom was the most consistently entertaining series of Winter 2015 for me. Koro-sensei is an absolute delight, and I never get tired of the offbeat things he does at Mach speed. It could stand to be less episodic, perhaps.
I watched the first season of Baby Steps recently because I haven't watched many sports anime, and tennis is the sport I enjoy watching the most on TV, so it seemed like an obvious choice. I get the feeling that it's fairly typical for its genre - main character pushes him/herself super-hard and overcomes countless obstacles with the help of unusually high-quality (and sometimes contradictory!) coaching. Like I say, I love watching tennis, and 95% of this show is about tennis, so I'm happy!
I had this strange thought a month or two ago. I had this passing urge to see an anime couple consisting of a huge tough-guy and a really sweet small girl. I just thought it would be the most adorable thing ever. But I didn't really know how I'd go about searching for this kind of thing, and I forgot about it soon afterwards. But now, now only is there such a romance in MY love STORY!!, but it's the main focus of the anime! The first episode was just as adorable as I'd hoped, and this is definitely the airing series I'm looking forward to most thus far this season.
I'll talk about Plastic Memories when it's fresher in my memory.
I found The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan pretty dull. There was no spark - the comedy was bland and repetitive, and I didn't feel any chemistry between the characters. Maybe it was trying to rely on my familiarity with the characters to prevent the need for actually giving me a reason to keep watching? If that's the case, the gambit failed.
