okay, so I was breeding Synthesis onto Oddishes, when I hatched out 2 Oddishes. Both are male, have the calm nature, and currently at lvl 5. Their stats are as follows:

Oddish 1:
HP: 20
Attack: 9
Defense: 10
Special Attack: 13
Special Defense: 13
Speed: 8

Oddish 2:
HP: 20
Attack: 9
Defense: 10
Special Attack: 13
Special Defense: 13
Speed: 8

they are EXACTLY the same! in everything! has this sort of thing ever happen to you?

Already given the natures are both calm, the probability of two newly hatched oddish having the same stats is 3.1176% So, it's not too likely, but it's not impossible either. At level 5 with no training, a Calm Oddish's stats are:

HP: 19-21
Attack: 9
Sp. Attack: 12-14
Speed: 8-9
Sp. Defense: 12-14
Defense: 10-12

Check their IVs. If the IVs are also identical, then you've got something. I've bred a ton of seemingly-identical Pokemon and only a few have also been identical in IVs.

They're in the same level and they have the same nature, maybe after you train them up they'll be same anymore.
This is a completely normal thing.

I'm working on breeding the perfect Umbreon.. When you've been through as many hatched Eevee's as I have you're used to seeing that, especially if the mother is holding an everstone.
If you have any rare candy's saved up level one Oddish up a bit, write down it's stats and restart without saving. Then do the same with the second Oddish. You may see a slight difference in their stats then.

are you blind or something , s/he said both calm (why the hell is your username near the same as mine? Too many BIGs XD)

I'm working on breeding the perfect Umbreon..

Get a male with awesome stats, and a female with one of its stats with 31IV (that's not the same perfect stat as the male), and you will get 31 in three stats. The other 3... good luck with that buddy, the best pokemon breed by me that I possess, is a Blaziken with one stat at max IV and other stats all above 23IV with a 26IV average and that is pretty damn good, 31x6, you'll be breeding for a couple hundred hours at least.

PDL, if you own emerald, take them to the breeder in the house slightly north east of the battle frontier pokemon centre and you will see thay are different. Also, I would like to say this: IVs are passed down through breeding, so its possible they both inherited the same IVs, but I guarantee you they are both unique, at least by 3-4IV difference, plus there is that gender value thingie.
