What are the differences throughout the game between choosing a Male character and a Female character?

And also, which did you choose?

The only diference is the mini sprite that you walk with and your rival, excluding that the game is exactly the same.

Oh yes, I´m a boy, I choose a boy.

The only difference i can see is that the female character makes it so the male rival has differnt music. adn vice versa

Just choose the gender you are. Makes absolutely no diffrence.

There is no real difference, and I get both games each time they come out and be both characters.
My main games LG/Ruby = Boy, as I am
FR/Sapphire = Girl

Well, I think it changes the opening movie. When I first turned it on I say May bicylcing, and ever since I've only seen Brendan.

The only difference is the sprite that you use. Nothing special. Since I'm a girl, I chose the girl character but I do use the male character from time to time. There's no difference in how the game turns out at all.

What's not noticed as much though is that your rival will have different Pokemon depending on the gender. For one battle in particular, but I forget off hand...

I got bored being May for a while, so I decided to be Brendan in my Ruby Version. Nothing's really different, maybe the Rival's music being a little more different. And, some people talk to you differently depending on which gender you are. And of course, the ending of the game would be different too. Even if you play as the opposite gender, nothing's really different.
And, I mostly prefer being a girl, although playing as a boy is fun sometimes... ^^;

i choose a girl b/c i would rather look at a girl with all the time that i spend on the game. they keep me calm. rarely do i choose male players.

Ruby/Emerald: I usually pick girl as I am one, but I pick Brandon sometimes. I just think he looks neat with his white hair. May looks way too bleh to me. Her hair annoys me so much!

FireRed: I always pick the girl. The boy just looks way too plain, but I guess that's just to be expected from the R/B/Y days. The girl in FR/LG is cute. She looks like a friend of mine.

Differences in Male/Female Character

Maws, the story is completely the same no matter your character. I always choose the girl simply because I'm female. But seriously, the story isn't different at all.;182;

One more small difference between whether you pick a boy or a girl character, is that the bag will look different. The boy character has a backpack with one strap while the girl has a bag that goes around her waist. It's something hardly noticable though.

Since I'm a girl, I always choose the girl character(if available) in all of my games.

Sorry to pick up on this really late but it isn't hair is it? I thought it was a hat. I apologise if I'm wrong. Anyway, being male I always choose the male character.
