What Buttons Do You Press when catching Pokemon?

Does anyone press buttons while catching pokemon to try and ensure it being caught. I always press B down a split second before it explodes, and B down every time it shakes. What technique do you guys do?

I hold down and B as soon as the ball shuts just to confort myself. I haven't done that in a while though, since I have 200+ balls in my bag at any given time now, so it doesn't matter how many I expend.

I've read somewhere-or-other that Nintendo said that pressing buttons while catching a Poke doesn't work. Bollocks to that. xD I press B and down just as the ball closes. It just comforts me like that.

That's gotta be a lie, I never seem to be able to catch crap without doing anything, but when I do my move, and I can catch Legendary Birds and Mewtwo and such quite easily.

I don't press any buttons when I throw a ball. I just look away and hope that the Pokemon will be caught. It worked a couple of times against legendaries.

And yeah, same here. I've tried not holding down any buttons before, without catching anything. And when I do press B/Down, I get better results. Eh, sheer luck or just a coincidence? The world may never know. =o

Lol, I think its very unlikely that pressing buttons actually does anything, but I still press the a button repeatedly sometimes. I don't know why, but I just do.

When I'm catching a pokemon, Aftre the ball closes and it hits the ground and stops bouncing I press down and A. I have no idea why though

i use to hate when i go to find cheats(really long time ago) and i see people saying,"cactch a pokemon,90% of the the time!"it never works!but i use to press a and b rapidly until i found out that it didnt work.

At most times, I just look at the screen intentively, or look away. I may even press the D-pad, and A and B a lot, not usually for catching, but because I'm really tempted to press buttons.

Mostly i hold "A" and when i get ticked off i press both "A & B" rapidly to catch and when i really get ticked off... i close my eyes and turn up the volume up and i dont touch anything.... it works.

This method caught shadow Moltres/Articuno/Zapdos and every otehr legendary I've ever caught. Keep tapping a and B. Hitting them simultaneously seems to work too. Even if it doesn't work I likt to think that Im doing something.

Heh, I think this whole concept of pressing buttons to catch a Pokemon started way back in the R/B days. Since we were all so naive back then, we would most likely try these silly codes/cheats to see if they would actually work.

This one though, has stuck with us for a long time. Pressing buttons to help catch a Pokemon probably doens't work, but it just makes us feel better when we do press them, and makes us consciencly think that we're catching a Pokemon. I myself tend to press Down B when catching things, just because I've been doing that forever, and it just makes me feel better and to think that I will catch the Pokemon. Tends to not work, but whatever, I still do it anyways.

Well I only sometimes press buttons on the safari zone(>>) I slide my finger on A and B and pokemon last longer in the pokeball for some reason. I caught a Tauros on the first try using this method

To be honest, I've always thought this thing works...

I just use A or Up + A when the Ball opens. Bleah. Works for me. =/

I know it doesn't do anything but I just tap A repeatedly. I dunno why I do it. I've been doing it in every game I play. I hit the A button while waiting for something to pass.

I press Down and B, due to the old Nintendo 'cheat', it seems to have been instilled in me.

Isn' that strange? I don't think I realized I did that, until you guys said something...I wait until the ball is thrown, and then I press and hold Right. Then, each time the ball wiggles, I press the B button, kind of ferociously. The More You Know, I guess...
