• Hi all. We have had reports of member's signatures being edited to include malicious content. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and we can find no indication that the forums themselves have been compromised.

    However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar logins on multiple sites, people and even bots may be able to access your account.

I'm not exactly sure where this thread should go, but I found this the most necessary place to put this question.

What can Serebii (the mod, not the site) do that other mods can't (I'm not speaking in terms of editing the actual site, but in terms of if it's optional for him to obey the rules, or something around those lines)? Can the site owner disobey his own rules because he was insulted by a post? What are the limits that this guy can do?

I'm asking this (or these) question(s) because I've seen too many posts similar to things like 'Serebii will ban you because you insulted celebi' or 'dont accuse his website, because if he catches you, Serebii will ban you forever.' Whether these comments are jokes or the person's being serious, I don't know. You can't track sarcasm through words. Either way, just try your best to answer this question: can he disobey his own rules?

I would think that he try not to break his own rules, but nobody's perfect, so I'm not sure if has never done so. The fact is, if he did not follow his own rules, everybody would see and therefore would see that as unfair and would start to hate him. I don't think any of us would like that.

I agree with you I.W. He, I'm pretty sure obeys his rules just like everyone else, otherwise he would be a hypocrite people will stop obeying the rules. People do the same as their leaders... I would flame bush but no politics so there you go...

Well, he would be a hypocrite if he did so. But if he's smart enough to make a website this large, then he's smart enough to get away with banning a few people that insulted celebi.

I'm a mod in a couple of forums, it is acctually: those who flame you for no good reason are just a bunch of morons and then I just block their PMs and ignore them, serebii doesn't seem like the kind of person who would Ban for something small like that, unless it was Hardcore Flaming like, 50 Messages in his box the next day...

Serebii: Gets angered and punishes you for breaking the rules he made and others even he must follow.
God: Gets angered and punishes you for breaking the rules he made.

My theory: Serebii can break some of the rules he made, but not the others that'll break the rules he has to follow.

Everybody who owns a forum site can't do exactly anything they want.
I own a forum site and there are rules that I've to follow.

To Serebii: Forgive me for saying this.

Serebii is pretty much God of this website. He can do things from change your avatar to deleting a whole section of the forums.
I haven't seen too many of his (or her?) posts, but he seems like a good person. Then again, you don't really know someone until you've seen every side of them.

The only rule I haven't seen him fallow is the cussing rule-but no one really fallows that. ._.
