I have just beaten the Cipher plan/phenac city saga and my pokemon are level thirty:

Jolteon
Ursaring
Swalot
Baltoy
Mightyena
Spheal

But, I really wanna replace Spheal as my team is already a bit weak against fighting (in adavantage) and Spheal is'nt too good in battle (only when it survives). Does any one have any suggesstions on what to replace it with.
I was thiniking Butterfree as It'll help against fighting types and can give shadow pokemon many status probs but i'm still not sure. Any suggestions

Butterfree would be a good replacement for spheal, its base stats and attacks are better, also butterfree would survive for longer!

If you want a water replacement, then Shellder is your answer. I dunno if you have it yet after the Phenac Saga but it is an awesome Water type and you get a Water Stone later in the game. If you want Butterfree, then it is better than Spheal. I made the mistake of keeping Sealeo and it STUNK. So I would get rid of it.

Here's a great team that got me through the entire game quite well(good for suggestions);

- Flareon
- Spheal->Sealeo->Walrein
- Mawile
- Mareep->Flaafy->Ampharos
- Duskull->Dusclops
- Poochyena->Mightyena

Note: Duskull->Dusclops have very good defense and can take a fair amount of beating. Mightyena is good until a certain point, then you need shadows(up to snattle at Citadark then a change would be good). Mawile is quite good with the right attacks, as its attack stat is great. Spheal is a guy you need patience for as its speed makes up for its weakness(teach is water pulse early, it helps). Flareon is a great fire type to have, just make sure you teach is Flamethrower as early as possible. And finally, mareep is great once fully evolved, just make sure you be patient as i waited till level 30 before getting rid of Thundershock.

So in short that's the team i used for the entire game(near the end of Citadark, i got rid of Mightyena).

I really don't think that flareon is a good idea for XD. It has horrible special attack and only gets a handful of TMs at the beginning of the game, making it very difficult to raise for the beginning of the game. It's your choice to use it, but I just think there are easier to use eevee evolutions. Generally I would choose houndoom. More rounded pokemon. If you do keep flareon, be sure to teach it overheat, and only overheat. All the rest should be physical attacks.

I did not need a water pokemon for the whole game. I'm saving that spot for lapras when it comes. A water pokemon is not needed for the entire thing I believe. The few things that the water type can counter in the game can be just as easily countered by other types that are more common. I would try to use a different type than water but if you do choose cloyster, be aware of its horrid special defense.

Well water/ice types suffer no double weakness, and walrein does have higher stats than butterfree, but butterfree can be a good supporter. Still, jumpluff is better than butterfree at that. I would choose walrein or jumpluff, but it's really your choice.

thanks everyone, you've been a great help. I decided Duskull thanks to cobalt_latios, as it's good for defence, and to confuse shadow pokemon.
I may replace it later but i like it at the moment.
thanks guys
