What design style do you prefer?

i don't like the designs of those ornamental pokemon, that new snowflake pokemon, claydol, castform, ones that have a little too much going on that don't really add anything, volbeat, armaldo, kriketune, drifblim,

also i'm not too fond of the ones that are just carbon copies of real things with no actual additions like the new deer/stag pokemon, sunflora, torchic, prinplup.

I don't like Pokemon that have been modeled after common objects, like the Ice Cream 5th gen Pokemon. It seems as if that Pokemon isn't natural or "real". The only thing I can think of that would validate it as a real Pokemon is that maybe ice cream was modeled after it.

I like the second generation's wacky, colorful, comic-like style, but I also like how the third generation used a lot of unique real-life animal concepts.

Typhlosion: meh, still looks kinda cool, a flaming ferret
Tyranitar: YES, AWESOME, it looked strong, it was strong, and it looked like a T-rex or something.
then comes along some flaming monkey..
then comes along some..WTF? a bunny-pig?

i guess the main thing the most recent pokemon are missing are the "looks strong and are strong", now its more of like "cute can kill" kind of style.
charizard: looked strong, was strong
Blastoise: looked strong, was strong
Haunter: looked awesome
Gyarados: looked awesome, was strong
Feraligatr: looked ferocious or something
all of these pokemon have something in common, they look AWESOME
the recent ones are focusing on being all cutesy and crap.
i mean yeah there were some 1st and 2nd gen pokemon that DID do the cutesy and crappy look, like horsea or Jigglypuff, but they weren't all like that.

the major point is that we now have "cute can kill" motto going on, and its just..annoying. last time i checked, people don't use that stupid pokemon Cherubi.

Yeah, Pokemon that look like cartoon animals compaired to Pokemon that look like monsters. Wow, those kinds of designs shouldn't be used in Pocket Monsters at all should they? -_-

If the Crown Fits...
I really like the Pokemon that are Dark and Mysterious.
All of the ghosts...minus the final form of the Water-Ghost.
All of the dragons (including most of the Dragon-esque ones like Charizard, Milotic, and so on)...minus Reshiram, Kyurem, Red-Head, Altaria, and kinda Palkia.
All the snakes.
Mewtwo<3
A couple of the Cute ones.
And a couple dozen of the others.
I'm too picky I guess. ;)

Corroded Arceus

Shiny Hunter
I tend to like the cool, tough looking ones that are based on animals, but some of the non-animalistic ones (like Unown and Ditto) are cool too. I just don't like the typical cutesy ones, because I have a very diffrent idea of what is cute than normal people.

Do it the bird way!
You know, i really can't say that i have any problems with any pokemons design. I accept every pokemon as unique and having value. Even the man-made ons I don't have any problem with. usually at the beginning of each new generation, I have a problem with some of the new pokemon designs. But they always grow on me. And pretty soon the 5th generation pokemon will be no problem for me to accept.

As for the designs, I really like some of the ornamentation. Torterra is perhaps my favorite example of this, and Camerupt as well. If you look at some pokemon like Rayquaza (looking sort of like a rocket) and Lopunny (wearing boots) I just try to imagine that people designed things after these pokemon. BTW is the ice cream pokemon actually called ice cream or is it something else?

So 1991
I like most of the designs so far except for some of the legendary designs of later pokemon. They seem to give me the impression that they could be destroying Tokyo and while that isn't nessecarily a bad thing they do stand out a little too much compared with most non-legendaries which is one of the reasons I think of legendaries as being distinct from regular pokemon.
