Pretty self-explantitory(never was very good of a speller).

What do you think was the writer's reason for removing May from the series.

Max/Brock had nothing to do really, so that could have been their reason but May was very popular and had a quest to fufill, so what do you think was their reason for removing May?

Well, maybe to see how the series does without her. However, since Shinou does have contests, they may decide to bring her back maybe in a year or so or starting with the second DP opening. It would make sense.

Also, May was getting dull.

To make sure that she doesn't turn stale like Brock? Or possibly JohtoMisty?

Letting May leave when she was at the top of her popularity allows her fans that enjoy her now to not get sick of her. Also, they don't want to ruin her by leaving her in the show.

May represented the AG and R/S pretty much, this is a new series therefore a new cast if not Shinou would still be 'AG'

we've had what 3 years 191 episodes with May? that is a lot she had a great run but its time to try new things and give a new breath of fresh air to the series, I mean sure May could easily be great for more episodes but another 3 years/200 episodes worth of material without getting stale? that is the main reason.

Because ten-year-old males tend to be somewhat biased against females, so putting two of them in the show at the same time would have been a good social statement but a bad business move.

That's probably the only reason May's gone, despite the Super Contests in the game. Then again, the show really is just one big advertisement...

I'm guessing the third person would be Professor Nanakamado or however you spell the dude's name. Anyways, the writers probably just wanted to advertise Hikari. They want money obviously.
