What Does This Mean?

What does it mean, in my ruby game when in the bottom corner of a pokemons status screen, for my altaria.... well my whole team it says Status: PkRS??
Does this provide any added effects to my pokemon, have i actually discovered something rare???
Also what's the deal with a purple wurmple and the sparkle surrouding it? each evoloution has been in a different colour.... i've been playing since blue version and i've only had the red gyarados that this has happened to...

Can someone please tell me what's going on, is my game going to reset due to this glitch?

Well, PkRS stands for PokéRus. It's a good thing. Check this out:

YOU LUCKY *******!! PKRS means PokéRus! If you train a Pokémon with PokéRus, it will get two times as strong as normal when he levels up!! Other Pokémon in your party can also get infected by it!! The PokéRus dissappears after a few days if you don't put the infected Pokémon in a box.

And for the purple Wurmple, it's a shiny Pokémon! Shiny Pokémon are very rare, and they keep shiny when they level up! Some people never get a shiny!! The red Gyarados is also shiny!!

So by keeping at least one of the infected pokemon in my box, i can keep the virus and after it dissapears from my party, just withdraw that pokemon and they'll all be infected again....

PokéRus is a friendly virus, y'know. But the Pokémon won't be all infected again immediatly... it takes a while. And sometimes, a Pokémon that had PokéRus can't be infected again, and sometimes, they can. It all depends on luck how long the virus lasts.

Well, you can't infect the Pokémon in your party that has been infected already. When PokéRus disappear from a Pokémon you'll notice a little black dot. That means that the Pokémon can't be infected with PokéRus anymore and won't spread it to other Pokémon. But it will still gain double EV's.

No, it doesn't give double Exp.Points. It only gives double EV's.

Once a pokemon has it, and it goes they can't catch it again, it will have the 'black dot' but the added effects will still be there.

i have pokerus my cuzin starter had pokerus and he gavee it to me i gave it to him but i still have some of his other pokerus pokemon
