What game did you get your first shiny Pokémon in?

The first shiny I've ever encountered was a Pidgey on Route 8 in FireRed, but I ended up defeating it, since I didn't know about shinies back then. Later, I encountered a Ponyta with blue flames on Kindle Road and caught it.

First shiny encounter was Pidgey in LeafGreen on a Sevii Island, but I ko'd it (thought it could withstand one Razor Leaf from Venusaur)
First successful capture was a Zigzagoon in Emerald

First ever was a Shiny Suicune gifted to my Silver cartridge from a special machine in the Pokemon Center in NYC.

The first that I actually captured was a Surskit in XD which had me about flip the freak out.

I think that the Sandile line was one of the small handful of shinies referenced by NPCs in the game. I kind of wish more games had NPCs with shinies, even if it's just one for an easter egg

I got my first shiny, a Tentacool, on a water route in Emerald. Still have it, currently on Omega Ruby.

Oh, Tentacool was my first shiny as well! After defeating the Elite 4, I wanted to surf around Route 103 before heading to Dewford Town. Sadly, I lost my copy of Pokemon Emerald, so... sad face.

He got a shiny Budew. I got nothing.
