Pokemon suddenly seems so kiddy. I think that they should make a show for teens, don't you think? Or how could they make the show better?;212; Scizor does not want to be kiddy anymore.

Pokémon is slowly becoming less and less kiddy. The maturity of the Pokémon and gameplay of R/S/E is quite impressive, really. The animé has long since evolved from its happy-go-lucky state, that image most evident in Kanto and Johto, to a lesser extent. Hoenn is a lot more advanced and a lot more serious(not without its laughs, though, of course). People who call it kiddy are just reciting inbred insults that don't even apply any longer.

Like Viru said, Pokemon is slowly becoming less kiddy because of the pokemon shows and the games.

Your delusional.
Pokemon is still VERY MUCH geared towards the younger age spectrum. Tell me what self-respecting television series designed for kids 12 and up has the SAME DAMN story line every time you watch it? Ash runs around acting goofy... they run into some guy or girl they'll probably never see in their lives again. Brock goes crazy if it's a female, they battle, team rocket comes, pikachu uses thunderbolt. "Awesome" rock plays throughout all of this and at the end of it all, we get a good little fuzzy feeling inside because ASH BEAT TEAM ROCKET. Even the championships in the houenn league managed to be boring..
Sorry, the only shows I know of with this much repetition is Dora the Explorer and other Nick JR shows

Pokemon is still quite kiddy in terms of the shows, although they are slowly crawling away from that title, I agree that they have a long way to go. But if you despair over the kiddyness of pookemon, look at the card game, the video games. They aren't geared for younger children, they are geared for all audiences, not just children.
Over and out,;198;

Yeah, very true. The only thing "kiddy" about Pokemon is the Anime in my opinion.

Exactly like ≈*Virulent Tsunami*≈ said it is just a sterio type now, people and parents think that we should get out of this because they thing it is a 'stage' this isnt a stage this is a full blow obsession! lol ;manyula; ;208; ;248; < They have joined the non kiddie club! :p

PKMN just kinda went out of fashion now, not because it's kiddy. Things go like that nowadays. However, around where I live people have finally accepted PKMN since everyone else plays it. Its sorta the anime that ruined it, it is still the same, but if Advanced had come earlier PKMN might still be in fashion.

Meh... Anime could use some touch ups, as for Kissing, and stuff... XD

But the games are fine...

I really agree. I also hate when people think the games are kiddy and for five year olds. When the lil brats cant even figure out how it works.

(I used to be like that, lol)

The anime being the only thing Pokemon on the block that has the 'kiddy' reputation nowadays? That's another reason why I emailed PUSA the other day to ask them this question: "Do your "Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon" VAs fit better into the characters of pokemon, do the old VAs fit better, or does somebody else fit better into the voices of the characters on your Pokemon anime show?" because I think the voices, among other factors, of the pokemon anime might be responsible for giving pokemon anime the 'kiddy' label...

Luckily for the games and the trading cards, those things aren't like that, so the game sector isn't kiddy, so if you think the games are kiddy, think again, because you are probably looking at the pokemon controversy in the wrong way, and the pokemon controversy is reality in pokemon vs. pokemon haters that think supporting pokemon is like supporting satanism, and if you think that way, then you should think again: Pokemon is not like that: it's just a game, and only a small percentage of all pokemon players support the devil, or anything in that nature, but that small percentage of pokemon players support the devil because they couldn't decipher reality from fantasy, because games, as well as all things that are created by someone's imagination(meaning all fictional things) don't influence the mind in reality into thinking that way, so the only thing that can trigger you supporting the devil is yourself, because fictional things are not living things like humans and plants in real life, but they're still organisms, but the only thing that's living about them is that they come from metal/paper/some other form of design, and metal and/or paper is a substance, and substances don't influence our mind unless humans make it so, but when it comes to imagination, you can't be the judge, only the company that created it can be the judge of the work of art they created... It's the way of life...

I have to agree 100%. I don't know how some of you can say that the Anime is becoming more mature... And please give examples if you really feel this way? Because to me, it's the same as it's always been.

I agree with this. I don't see how the anime is becoming more mature, if anything too me it seemed more mature when it first began, imo. I think the kiddy side of pokemon is the anime, and that's my opinion, like it or not. The games seem to be getting more mature, bit by bit, in terms of creature creation, example Dorapion. But that doesn't stop what age audience pokemon was intended for in the first place.

I think it is too late to stop making Pokemon 'kiddy'. True fans will like it however it is and people who have stopped liking Pokemon are unlikely to like it more if it had more mature anime (although it would be better for just about everyone on these forums). I guess it would stop us all getting bullied at school so much though.

Oathblivion

Dragonite says "Hi."
And that's why I have forsaken the anime. Heck, even Nick's Avatar show, which is for the same age group, has a more mature plot and non-repetitive episodes. The only thing I still enjoy about the anime are the first, second, and fifth movies. I'd probably like the fourth one, but I have yet to se it.

Now, on the games topic. They can be for anyone. They keep a basic plot line and an easy diffucultly (Ouch, spelling...) for the younger set, but you can also dive into EV's and the like if you're older. I have abandoned the TCG because no one else plays it. I used to be good too...

As an ending statement, the anime is kiddy, the games are not, but that's what fanfictions are for.

T3h Blazing Ranger!
Only the Anime is kiddy, the games and the Manga aren´t kiddy IMO. But it would be cool if the Anime was more mature, Pokemon wouldn´t have so teenager haters, but more mature haters

The only kiddie part is the anime, but most people, off of the anime, think the games suck along with the anime. I watch the show, but I admit it needs help.

It's about time someone said that. The mainstream population sees the anime first and the strategy and depth behind the games last(if ever). If I didn't know anything about Pokemon and watched one filler of the anime, I would think it was kids too. "We're blasting off again!!! Again!! and Again!!"

But like I said in the last 5 threads like this, Pokemon is for everyone but marketed for kids.
