There's a fine, fine line between actually "thinking" you know what you're doing, and knowing what you're doing is actually going to work.
Of course, I'm referring to competitive play.
I've also learned that you can easily tell someone's age, mentality and basic gaming views simply by viewing their team. If it's so predictable, you can pull names from a hat and know it'll be what you expected. This is also a great way to tell the average intellect of the battler; if they're just tossing moves they "claim" are very powerful, then chances are they don't really know. If they can take their time and set up to defeat you with little to no effort, than they're quite clever/intelligent and are capable of being strategic.
I've also learned that general stupidity is assured in some form until otherwise proven wrong. And the fact that it happens so often here doesn't actually help.
A final thing I've learned (from being on these forums), the biggest fans aren't always the ones who you'd expect to be the "sociable/intelligent" ones. It's the ones who are fans, but aren't completely devoted that are usually still "there".
