I was hoping this was the case when we found out about the World Series. Obviously you’d run into issues like favoritism for marketing and there being nearly 50 reserves but I would’ve taken that. I’ve always wanted at least an arc where Ash stays home and just trains all of his old Pokémon in preparation for a big tournament. AG did this perfectly in BF: Ash still had his Hoenn team (Torkoal and Glalie who?) while occasionally rotating in some older mons like Charizard, Tauros, & Heracross. I would’ve liked a Galar team with the same thing.
