What if Smogon made the Pokemon anime?

The Pokemon anime is going downhill. But what if Ash had a team based on Smogon's competitive sets? (No legendaries of course.)

I imagine the anime would be alot more boring that way. Competitive play is more about strategy, and patience, etc.

It'll have no DEM battle, but the anime will be a bit more boring.

But Ash would be competent at least.

Anyways, isn't this a random question? Smogon explicitly stated that even within the forum, there is no anime discussion, and they weren't interested in it at it.
