Pikachu-the electric rat always has its unnatural advantage-the one that allowed it to shock Drake's Dragonite (probably Ash's most difficult foe ever)
Bulbasaur-everyone says Spectile, when unless you look at those few episodes on the main site after Grovyle evolves, you do not know very much about Sceptile. Bulbasaur was used until "Bulbasaur-The Ambassador", and that was at Master Quest, I believe. Bulbasaur did not evolve, I think perhaps maybe it did not want to, yeah, in that one episode in the latter episodes of The Road to Indigo...it was used that long, how could it not be powerful?
Charizard-most battles with Charizard are good. It fought all of Ash's toughest foes ("Noland's" Articuno/Drake's Dragonite/Harrison's Blaziken/Blaine's Magmar/etc...)
Squirtle-it was a crime when they removed Squirtle to the Squirtle Squad. Corphish and Totodile was never as skilled as Squirle. Withdraw/Tackle combination was one of the better things Ash could do...
Snorlax-keep it fed and well-slept, and this tank is not stopping until it is tired or hungry again. Let it shoot a few Hyper Beams and it has done its duty.
One of his three flying types, hm...
I have a shiny Noctowl on my Crystal, so I really want to say Noctowl, yet it got the least amt. of training. Swellow/Pidgeot is difficult to choose between. Since Ash left Pidgeot at the Pallet area, we do not know for certain how powerful it has become. It has been around 2 years since the end of the first season in show time, so one could safely assume that Pidgeot has become a rather powerful pkmn. Swellow knows Aerial Ace, and it has survived some long+intense fights. It could go either way. Again, it depends on how good Pidgeot has become. The same reason that supports Pidgeot helps Squirtle, too.
