I Don't like things being one sided so I made an opposite to What's bad about the anime? thread. I did use the Search Button.

To answer the question. Everything except for the flaws caused by man. ;025;

gee that's swell
I never thought there was anything wrong with the show, I love the show! But ContestShipping needs to be a canon (We'll discuss shippings elsewhere ^^;)

-Good animation in the movies.
-Brings Pokemon to life...a lot better than the 3D Pokemon games.
-Allows us to see Pokemon battles and the Pokemon world in general from a bit more of a "realistic view" so to speak.
-Dub has great writers who know how to make humorous moments.
-Made contests and Pokemon leagues more interesting than they are in the GB games.

I like Pokemon for having potential in introducing fantasy to people. Going through various forests, cities, caves, even a different dimension helps the mind in that it fuels one's imagination. Then there is the interaction with Pokemon, going beyond the boundaries of sprites in order to show us how they move, sound, and other things. The path isn't as restrictive as in the video games, as a person could befriend a Pokemon in a local area or go around entertaining people in some magic show instead of always entering the Pokemon League.

Then, there is the fitting music opening a bridge to the video games. Even the music that didn't come from the game usually fits the scene. That is why I bought the two anime soundtrack BGMs. Note of this not being the dub handling of music.

All the attractive characters: Misty, Hinata, Clair, Cassidy.....
Oh, that sounds a teeny bit shallow
the fact that it's animation style is simple and quite unique. And the fact that it's not an anime that has magical girls, ninjas and takes place in Japan (Pokemon takes place in Kanto, Johto, Houen, even if they're based on places in Japan)
Team Rocket
seeing my favorite Pokemon in animation
the openings
and the endings
and the Pokeraps

Good things are:
-The music
-Story Plot
-Appealing characters. :D
-Adventure
-The movies
-Seeing your fave Pokemon on TV! XD
There's more, but I can't think of some right now. XD

You know, now I hate you even more than when you griped about Satoshi giving away all his Pokémon. For God's sake, get off your duff and get your own opinion.

I hate people like him full stop (which the SPP forums has got alot of as of late).

Hm, nothing in my opinion. There's always decent music playing, aswell as great animation, and plot.

Although, I wish there were more major events, rather than bundles of fillers, and whatnot.

The battles are very interesting in how they make the stratigies, much more interesting than seeing a sprite use one attack at a time and sometimes the attacks don't even come from the Pokemon's mouth or where ever it's supposed to be and goes out of it's stomach.

How the Pokemon react to situations when confronted with things. Although that's been toned down a lot since the earlier seasons.

To alleviate the unbridled (albeit justified) harshness of my previous post, here's something a little more on-topic...

I do like the fact that the show is still well-grounded in strong characterization. We know who Satoshi is, and how he's developed. We know who Haruka is, and who she aspires to be. We know who Masato is, and what his thought process is. Only Takeshi is weak in this area, but primarily because the writers haven't given him enough to do. Even Musashi, Kojirou, and Nyasu remain true to their characterizations - they've become more fanatical than ever in recent years. Heck, even the Pokémon are given individual personalities, which allows for more episodes based on their development as well as the development of their trainers.

In addition to this, I really like the Japanese music direction. Every orchestration is a direct reflection of the action that's overlaid upon it, be it tense, goofy, or touching. I can only hope that PUSA keeps more of the Japanese music in Season 9 - music is a much stronger element in animation (or any visual form of storytelling media) than most people give it credit for.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

to add one.

We get to see the Battle Frontier played out, unlike in the video games.

Hush, keep it down
I like how they weave a grand story one thread (episode) at a time. You can take the episodes by themselves, and that's just fine---many are really good, too. But also you should take a look at the big picture; then even the fillers have a newfound meaning. Not to mention the battles just look cool and are fun to watch.

The movies haven't been consistant. Mewtwo Strikes Back was decent enough but not executed to perfection. Power of One corrected this, and while I loved all the Pokéshippyness in it, I can see how it would turn others off. Spell of the Unown was the best of the first three. Then the movies crashed---4Ever and Pokémon Heroes were a disaster and very lacking, respectively. The AG movies---Wish Maker, Destiny Deoxys, Mystery of Mew, and the soon-to-be-released Prince of the Sea all have (or seem to have) drawn up more interesting characters and plotlines. I CAN say that Wish Maker was a work of genius in my eyes, with perfectly executed characters, an engrossing story, and a damned good long action sequence at the end.

What's good about the anime? Gym battle episodes, that's what. I love gym episodes! They're my favourite :D.

Contests aren't too bad either, they sure make them better than in the games. The games only has two rounds with 4 people, but the anime has like 50 people competing in like 3 or 4 different rounds, so it's more challenging.
