If you haven't beaten the game yet, endeavor to beat it.
If you have, either start a new game or make your Pokémon as weird as possible.

Recently i find the goal in the newer games is to breed,train and fight Pokemon to the best of their ability, and maybe to "Catch' em all", i don't know.
In the first few it was more about the "Gotta catch' em all" thing, although i could say getting them to level 100 as well was a main thing.

Like many games, Pokemon doesn't have a specific goal: you try catching every pokemon in the game (good luck =D), try to get every contest ribbon, create a great team and battle people all around world...
You can do all kinds of things in these games, as long as you have fun. At least that's what I believe lol
