Like, how much emphasis goes into each generation throughout each generation in terms of the Games, Anime, TCG, Manga, and overall?
I'm mostly familiar with the games and the anime and here's how I see it in numerical and respective order.
I'm curious to see if my perspective differs from anyone else's and what generational prominence looks like in the other mediums.
I'm mostly familiar with the games and the anime and here's how I see it in numerical and respective order.
During Gen 1
- Gen 1 - Prominent and only games at the time.
- Gen 2 - Prominent.
- Gen 1
- Gen 3 - Prominent.
- Gen 1 - Because of remakes.
- Gen 2 - Gen 2 pokémon were mainly focused in Colosseum, but not as much in XD.
- Gen 4 - Prominent.
- Gen 2 - Because of remakes.
- Gen 1 - Got a lot of new evolutions to pre-existing gen 1 pokémon.
- Gen 3
- Gen 5 - Prominent.
- Gen 1 - Most pokémon that came back for BW2 were gen 1 (I think).
- Gen 4 - Mostly because Gen 5 were capable of connecting to the Gen 4 games and they were on the same system.
- Gen 2
- Gen 3
- Gen 6 - Prominent.
- Gen 3 - Because of remakes.
- Gen 1 - Huge amount of mega evolutions focused around gen 1 pokémon.
- Gen 4 - Honestly, mostly because Lucario was a huge focus in XY as it was mainly used to introduce us to mega evolutions.
- Gen 2 - Got a few new iconic megas.
- Gen 5 - Got the least amount of attention and only 1 mega evolution.
- Gen 7 - Prominent.
- Gen 1 - Because of Alola forms and remakes. Oh and ride pokémon were mostly gen 1.
- Gen 6 - Mostly because of the return of megas and Zygarde.
- Gen 2 - Lots of gen 2 mons came back and got new backstories. (Like Heracross).
- Gen 4
- Gen 3
- Gen 5
- Gen 8 - Prominent.
- Gen 1 - Because most galar and gigantamax forms are Gen 1.
- Gen 5 - Most returning pokémon are from Gen 5 I believe.
- Gen 3 - Obstagoon family.
- Gen 7
- Gen 4
- Gen 2
- Gen 6
During Gen 1
- Gen 1 - Prominent.
- Gen 2 - Some gen 2 pokémon started getting introduced towards the end of gen 1.
- Gen 2 - Prominent.
- Gen 1 - The only other gen at the time.
- Gen 3 - A few gen 3 pokémon started getting introduced towards the end of gen 2.
- Gen 3 - Prominent.
- Gen 1 - BF arc is entirely set in Kanto.
- Gen 2 - Ash has two gen 2 pokémon by the end.
- Gen 4 - A few gen 4 pokémon started getting introduced towards the end of gen 3.
- Gen 4 - Prominent.
- Gen 2 - Dawn's Cyndaquil.
- Gen 1
- Gen 3
- Gen 5 - Zorua and Zoroark get introduced towards the very end of gen 4.
- Gen 5 - Prominent.
- Gen 1 - Ash brings back Charizard and Kanto gets a huge emphasis towards the end.
- Gen 4 - Dawn's return.
- Gen 2
- Gen 3
- Gen 6 - Prominent.
- Gen 1 - Mostly Alain's Charizard.
- Gen 3 - Mostly because of Sawyer's Sceptile.
- Gen 4
- Gen 2
- Gen 5
- Gen 7 - Prominent.
- Gen 1 - Kanto returns, Kiawe's Marowak and Charizard, Lana's Eevee, etc.
- Gen 5 - Mostly because of Stoutland and a few other Gen 5 mons.
- Gen 6 - We see a few, few megas which I guess could count as Gen 6 Material.
- Gen 4
- Gen 2
- Gen 3
- Gen 1 - Most episodes are set there.
- Gen 8 - Goh's Cinderace, Sobble, and second to most episode are set in Galar.
- Gen 4 - Ash's Lucario.
- Gen 2 - Lugia.
- Gen 7 - Mostly because of the one Alola episode which provides the most continuity in my opinion.
- Gen 3 - Gets the third to most episodes set in Hoenn.
- Gen 5 - Gets the fourth to most episode set in Unova and Iris confirmed.
- Gen 6 - Korrina and soon to be Wilkstrom.
I'm curious to see if my perspective differs from anyone else's and what generational prominence looks like in the other mediums.
