Because in sap my starter is torchick and there is a lot of water so chickorita.

I chose Cyndaquil. I would've chose Totodile but I had to get a bunch of Pokemon from my brother's Sapphire and he wanted a Cyndaquil egg so I had to get Cyndaquil. I got Totodile later on XD.
