Well, since Yellow was the last colour version, I don't think they were ever planning to go back to colours.

Remakes with probably use the same format as Fire Red and Leaf Green.

I have no idea what'll be after Diamond and Pearl though.

Objection. Judging from the sheer popularity of FR/LG pokemon isn't becoming unpopular. There was a whole preorder list for it, and the day I went in to pick up the preorder the shelves were being cleaned of it. I dunno about Emerald though cause a friend of mine preordered it off the internet for me since it came out a day or two before my birthday
