This is mainly for my team on Gold (if this is to be posted in the G/S/C fourms could a mod please move the topic there) I nickname my Pokemon in hopes they would change colour when i put them on Pokemon Staduium 2 i've seen Pink Rattata's and many other diffrent colours of varous Pokemon, some say its puting the names backwards others say their is a "code" of some sort to change their colours, i'm guessing the code is from Gameshark though, i do have Game shark but nok for Pkmn Stadum 2.

Name your Pokemon with reversed name or one that includes part of their original name. For example, Two-mew for Mewtwo or Buzzy for Electabuzz. They will have a different tint or color.

If you name a raichu PIKI (I can't remember the case exactly) its orange parts will be yellow

Also maybe try some of the names that opponents use in the Stadium battles as opponent's pokes are almost always a different color (or at least from what I have seen)

There is a code to change the colours. Each letter, number and symbol has an affect on the colour of the Pokemon. Go on paint and try it. An A may add a lottle more red to the Pokemon, a B may add a little more blue, a C may add a little more green, a D may make the overall colour slightly darker, an E may make the colour slightly lighter, etc.

However, it is not only the name that effects the colour. The ID number also effects the colour. This is why you can call a Pokemon by its normal name, but it will have a different colour to the rental. This also prevents people from giving each other nicknames to use. Sometimes the nicknames will still work but not always.

The only way to get a normal colour is to have an ID number with all 0s and call you Pokemon its correct numbr.

I've heard that your Pokemn changes colour in stadium if the nickname is an anagram of the Pokemon name.

What I find interesting is the fact that odd, well thought out names do almost nothing to the Pokemon's color (for me, at least).

Will that apply to shiney pokemon as well?
Also I think that applies to only pokemons in the stadium1.

I'm not sure about shinies, but nicknames will change your Pokemon's color on Pokemon Stadium 2.

I meant pokemon that were available in stadium. Like, charmander will have it's colour changed, but not xatu.

Well, it depends on your Pokemon's nickname and ID number. I named a Pikachu "Relampago" and it turned a lot lighter than normal. I reseted the game and gave the same nickname, but when I played Stadium, it's color wasan't the same as after. He turned darker. I nicknamed one of them Zap, and turned darker. I saw somewhere that it depends on the Pokemon's ID number.

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN
I had a green-billed Golduck, by calling her "Duckie".

Then again, in the Stadium 1 prime cup (could've been poke' cup, though) there was an orange Weezing. I named my weezing the same way, and he never turned orange. I think the ID number may have something to do with it as well...

Deoxys Prime

Time will tell.
I named my Pikachu, pIkAcHu, and it was a darker color. On another file I had a pikachu named Uhcakip, it was a tad paler. I was naming my pokemon backwards, lol.

Fire Trainer Blaze

It's been a while...
I named my Pigeotto "Twister" and it was like a reddish-pink.
