What Pokemon will be based on Diamond and Pearl?Will it be based on new Pokemon or old Pokemon?

From my peronal beliefs, I think Lucario will be on Diamond's cover, and as for Pearl, I don't know. Maybe something equally strong to Lucario, but different? Until new Pokémon come out, I have no clue.

Lucario definetly on Diamond. I think- wait, not Maniafi, unobtainable, OK then, just some new legndary, or Pokemon may go back to it's roots and put starters on them.

Hm? That thread is too discuss the scans, and this thread is to specalate which new D/P Pokémon will be on the covers for Diamond and Pearl. Or, what are you doing?

With only nine pokemon revealed at this point, there's no certainty that Lucario will even be one. With the little amount of info we have, this is a minute thing to fuss about.

Meh, never know, they seem to be the currnetly more popular new 4th gens, then agian, no one has seen Manafi or Lucario yet.

It will probably be a set of new legendaries, similar to the two previous generations (ie. Ho-oh/Lugia, Groudon/Kyogre). I predict that they will have something to do with Steel-type...

Probably a Pokemon that matches its color. Which would mean NOT Lucario.

Lucario will NOT appear on any of the covers. I can gurantee you that..

It will feature legendaries that are counter parts of each other and that will fit the color scheme of the games. So 2 new legendaries that have a silver-whitish color.

Anyone remember how everyone thought Latias an Latios would be featured on the covers of Ru/Sa. What a big surprise when it was not them and Kyogre and Groundon instead.

That's a possibility, but I can still see Lucario being the "theme" Pokémon for Diamond, going along with some as-of-yet unrevealed "pearly" counterpart. Lucario is sufficiently "diamondy" to satisfy me.

Recall how Ho-oh was revealed in the very first episode of the anime, yet managed to become the posterchild of Gold version. There's also no need for the theme Pokémon to be revealed at the same time. Lugia was only revealed aeons after Ho-oh.
