The top pokemon I want to follow me are:
Growlithe, Arcanine or any starter.

But I could do with any dark pokemon really.

Well, I'll be fine with it otherwise but i'm hoping for an option to turn off the feature. If not fine, My typhlosion, and all other fire starters will be cool and i definitely need to look at the legendaries and.....WAILORD!

well, then i'd have whatever pokemon i'm training follow me, but after the national dex. i'd probably have an absol follow me.

Your right, it hasn't been clarified...
But it'd be pretty cool to have more than one pokemon follow you. For example Lugia and Ho-Oh or the three dogs: Suicune, Raikou and Entei.

Wailord. Only him. For a few reasons. Number one, he is f***in massive, and i hope they dont scale his size. Cause that would be sweet if he was actual size...if not then Groudon, as he weighs the most. If not Groudon/Wailord, then either Heracross, Garchomp, Dragonite, Flygon or Beedrill. Charizard also.

Before E4: Starter/Houndoom (if Houndour is available earlier/if I'm able to trade with Platinum from the beginning)/Espeon (Umbreon if Houndour isn't available earlier/I can't trade with Platinum).

After E4 (if I decide to make HG/SS my main game): Darkrai (most of the time), though I might have another favourite follow me for a change, or whoever I happen to be training ATM.

I don't know if anyone's said this yet, but Wailord. C'mon it's the biggest Pokémon in existence. It would be epic to have that following you.

Yeah, I chose my Espeon because I like to have dog type pokemon follow you around.
