Depends on what D/P is offering.

Keep them. It's a great team. If D/P has a nice Fire starter, maybe he should catch that to round out his team, but otherwise leave it as is.

Release them- Thats just stupid. Why would Ash release such a good team.

Travel with them in D/P- While Ash's Hoenn team is his best team ever, everything needs change. So unfortunately most/all of his team should be dropped. I just hope his D/P team will match up to his Hoenn team.

Put them in Oaks- While his lackluster Johto team was Oakked, I don't see why he would Oak his Hoenn team. He worked so hard on them and I don't see a reason to drop them so suddenly. But its probably the most plausible option.

Therefore Ash needs to get a new team, but I'd hate to see his old team dropped. Thus leading to the problem. I would like something special for Sceptile maybe a Charizard type treatment rather than being put in Oak's for no reason just to eat Pokefood and play with Cyndaquil. And Bulbasaur is already "protector".

Even if Sceptile gets Oaked, he'd surely just train on his own there. Or "recruit" the other Pokémon to spar with. Being strong is important to him, so he wouldn't just sit around doing nothing but eat and sleep. And creating a Sceptile equivalent of the Charisific Valley would be a bit much.

kill them and sell their organs for drug money XD

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
They're all going to be Oaked eventually. Maybe not all at once, but one-by one to make room for a team of all D/P Pokemon.

I reccon that he'll dump one or two after the Bf then catch some pokémon, have an episode dedicating him sending another pokémon to oaks (like that bulbasaur ambassador episode) oak another one for some reason then catch a couple more pokémon. I doubt they'll all be there at teh end of the D/P region.

Izit cuz I is black?
I can just see it now... the Sceptilific Valley, the Corphish Squad, Donphan the Ambassador, a scared flock of Taillow being attacked by a Fearow... what a region!

I love this scenario. No matter what Ash will do with them, there is always going to be a group of fans who dislike he decision.
If he keeps them through the DP saga, people will get bored and will want him to gain new, possibly more interesting pokémon, during his extended travels. If he drops them off at Oak's, we'll get complaints about him never using them again (Sceptile would cause the most uproar I'd imagine). And if he releases them...well, thats self-explanitory. Cue the 'Ash is a crap trainer' rubbish :p

Personally, I'd rather have him gradually desposit each pokémon in favour of a newer candidate ie. Johto. He'll then gain a new squad to tinker around with, at the same time still having his strongest team at his disposal.
THIS time however, there would be more rotating going on. That way, everyone will get a fair share of battle experience.

I’d imagine that the new region would, at least in theory, basically be the new version of Johto in which Ash keeps a few team members from the previous generation. I honestly doubt Sceptile is intended to be anywhere other than with Ash for the foreseeable future, so I assume Ash will voyage to the 4th generation land with pretty much a full team, or at least with the classic ‘chu, Sceptile and perhaps one or two pokemon who need training up, while leaving a few gaps for new team mates.

Ash
Sceptile, Donphan & Swellow are all fully evolved and fully developed so I say he should just ditch them. They can't evolve to any higher level so they should now prepare to step away. I'm not sure about Corphish though. I guess he'd leave too.

May
If Combusken evolves then I think Blaziken will be gone. I know it's her first Pokemon but I can't see it sticking around long after evolution. Eevee won't, I think. Unless it evolves into a fourth generation Pokemon. Squirtle, I can see it in the Squirtle Squad. Munchlax will stay.

I think that:

Pikachu - Stay, obviously.
Sceptile - Probably stick around for the first few episodes of the next saga before leaving him in a Charific Valley clone place.
Donphan - Leave at Oak's before he even goes to the next saga.
Swellow - Same as Donphan, but gets replaced with a new flying type within months.
Corphish - Possibly could stay for a while, until it gets sent back later on, or evolve and THEN get sent back.

Pikachu - Will 100% stay, no question.

Sceptile- I have a feeling that he'll be around for a LONG time to come, maybe even all the way through the D/P region but then will proably go to Oak's.

Donphan- Might stay because Ash is a fan of training him but I'm not 100%

Corphish- Will probably evolve then go to Oak's to hang out with Kingler.

Swellow- I'm almost certain he'll be Oaked for the next region.

I agree, that would be a great idea...

Pikachu - sadly stick around forever

Sceptile - I'm going to say that it depends on how well it gets its moves back. If it gets them all back by the end of BF, then I'm going to say that it'll stay at Oak's. If it doesn't I say it'll go with Ash until it does.

Donphan - Oak's along with Glalie and teh Muk.

Swellow - Same as Donphan.

Corphish - It'll probably come to D/P for awhile.

Combusken - will never leave since its May's starter

Munchlax - that's coming with her too

Eevee - if it evolves into a non-D/P evo then it'll probably go back to Petalburg...otherwise it'll come with her

Squirtle - personally I'd love to see it stay, but I think it'll go back to Petalburg after too

Don't forget, there'll be a new evolution introduced for Swellow right before it leaves. :p

Seems like the most likely scenario. The reason Satoshi had this fresh start in the first place is arguably because Ruby and Sapphire weren't backwards compatible. Diamond and Pearl have already been announced to have that feature.

There hasn't been an actual release since Togechick, or Arbok and Matadogas if we're talking about characters that are still regulars. Even then, none of the regular protagonists truley released anything since Laplace (Lizardon, and likely Zenigame, are available at any time, and Chiriin still belongs to Kojirou. Satoshi's Spear wasn't around long enough to be considered a major Pokemon, though it still managed to reappear with Nanako). Releases seem to be good for character-building, like Butterfree, but I think Tyltto already counts as Haruka's "release". All in all, I really wouldn't worry about anymore main Pokemon being gone permanently (well... Rocket Dan might still be an exception. We'll see when they start getting their D/P Pokemon). Though, I would kill to have a certain Pokemon of Haruka's ditched.

I would rotate his team. If he catches more than a few D/P pokemon, I would send some back to Oak for a while and have them train there. Then after the D/P pokemon are trained a bit, I'd bring back the others for some time training, and then send them back and get back the D/P pokemon. I'd repeat the process with other pokemon that Ash might catch and try to find the strongest pokemon out of all the pokemon from every region and form them into a team of six, while keeping the others as a second team. This way, Ash has two strong teams for the D/P league championships and that will greatly increase his chances of victory in the league.
