What ticks you off in anime?

UN-LTD AWESOME WORKS
For me, males who like the girls in the show more than the actual plot. Take Neon Genesis Evangelion, for an example. The plot blows me away and is quite creative, IMO, but people just fap away over Rei and Asuka and make H-doujins.

I also don't like people who always address their peers with -chan or -sensei at school, because it makes you look like you really suck.

wth does *fap* mean, and in Eva, noone really likes rei. Commander Ikari likes her and shinji was only interested in her in the begininng, not in the realtionship way...

i like it when ppl say chan, makes the lil gradeschoolers sound more..gradeschooly

to stay on topic.... i hate green subs -.-

What ticks me off in animes that always have these ladies that have the bust size letter near the end of the alphabet, I mean can we have an anime without a lady with size double D cups?

I also don't like those characters who fall in love and end up being so clingy to their significant other because it just makes my eyes bleed when I start watching that scene. Perfect example: Luchia from Mermaid Melody Pitchi Pitchi Pure, I mean if you watch it near the end of the series, you notice how CLINGY she is to Kaito. >>

... Didn't we have something like this just a short while ago? Like this thread,, for instance? Interestingly enough, wasn't it also me who brought up the whole "can't stand rape/lolicon/etc. crap found in hentai, the majority of doujinshi, and anime"?

Ah, good times, good times. ANN had a big discussion about primarily the same issues over in the talkback section in response to last week's "Hey, Answerman!" article, coincidently.

I also don't like people who always address their peers with -chan or -sensei at school, because it makes you look like you really suck.

People who add words such as "kawaii" and "hai" in English sentences, not to mention honorifics like "-kun" and "-chan" are Japanophiles, and they need to be beaten by the stupid stick more times than I would care to count. Why it is so "cool" and "smart" to mix in random words of different languages into your manner of speech, without even KNOWING more than one language, is beyond me.

Oh, people like and appreciate Rei in the show, not to mention her fans, obviously. Then again, her character is somehow fitting to the stereotype of the Eastern's beliefs of an ideal woman, of one who is submissive and quite loyal. Rei's character breaks the mold enough for me to be interested in her character, though I can't say the same thing for most other shy females that I see in anime.

What ticks me off are bishounens.

... with no depth. I don't give a crap if the design in bishounen or whatever (even if it will draw the shounen-ai and yaoi fangirls in), so as long as the character actually has some substance.

Lack of creativity, thought, and meaning in a fair amount of anime is something that I'm getting tired of seeing. I don't give a crap to see the next action shounen or fan service harem anime, I want something that actually has some intelligence behind it.

What ticks me off in anime's is when I expect something to happen and then something occurs that is totally off what I predicted. It ticks me off.

Seeing as she had to watch the guy she liked run off with Michal, I honestly can't blame her for that one. Wouldn't you be clingy too if the guy you liked forgot about you and some other chick latched onto him?

And for me, it'd have to be fanservice and nudity. Sure people can call me prude, but a good story can hold up on it's own. Adding that stuff just shows how desperate people are for ratings. ._.;

Aim for the Top.
The BGM at times, it can either make or break a moment. Like "Number One!" in the Bleach OST, totally kills the moment.

Why? Because you were wrong? Because predictability is the only good thing possible? You sadden me.

... I have no idea as to whether to take your first comment seriously or not... As to the second one: the main characters in Evangelion fall into some archetype one way or another, such as Shinji being viewed as Amuro Ray from the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Asuka being viewed as Akane from Ranma 1/2 (I would've mentioned Kasha from Space Runaway Ideon, which is the biggest influence on Evangelion, but I think more people would recognize the Ranma 1/2 similarity[/i]), Rei being viewed as... well, you get the idea (since I've run out of comparisons, for some odd reason).

I was having a conversation with TSC about this recently, and our opinions are pretty much in the same that characters such as Misato and Asuka are more interesting than Rei, plus from my own reasons I just find expressive people to be more attractive than reserved ones (not in that way, you perverted maggots). Plus, I apply the logic that you'll have an expressive person possibly become more calm but still be open with what they think and feel, while you can have a reserved person become as wild and crazy in time. You have shy people becoming loud, but you don't have loud people becoming shy (unless some tragic event occurs, but I'm referring to everyday life where things just typically develop).

And for me, it'd have to be fanservice and nudity. Sure people can call me prude, but a good story can hold up on it's own. Adding that stuff just shows how desperate people are for ratings. ._.;

Eh, I can make some rare exceptions, but normally I'm just not fond of it either. Though I don't have a problem with nudity if it is to serve a purpose and not just to draw in any depraved sex-mongers.

^it's because that the whole event you predict is so obvious that their is no other thing that can happen, then some farfetch event occurs that it's as if though it happend to just keep you waiting and then they just shut the door on to you.

Fanservice and nudity for me. D:: To me, seems like some cheap way to draw in fans....>>

Take Love Hina and Gakuen Heaven for example. D: MOST ESPECIALLY Gakuen Heaven. >>

... Care to provide me with some examples? Unless it's something like "unpredictable for the sake of unpredictability," then I can't find fault with that.

This topic confuses the hell out of me. Are we discussing what ticks you off about things that occur in anime or things about people who watch anime that tick you off? This topic seems to be swinging both way. The title's misleading as hell, too.

Btw, "fap" is no Japanese word of anything. It's a short word used in reference to masturbation (fap being the sound of meat being pounded).

NO, tough luck :p

I love many things about anime, and actually can't find a flaw. Except filler arcs and streching a storyline for too long.

The fans...

I was going to post this, but he beat me to it :(

fans have ridiculously high standards... it's amazing that the people who work in the anime industry don't commit mass suicide.

FILLERS.

Fillers can make any anime series become beyond mental retardation.
I hope they're damned to hell. >_>
