what to do with DNA?

Yea I have a question, with any given cheatdevice you can change the items you hold in your bag into something called DNA, for example:
# "Misdreavus DNA sample"
# "Quilava DNA sample"
# "Croconaw DNA sample"

what is it and what do you do with it?
