I think I caught a Rattata for a first timer...I don't know, it was either that or a Pidgey but I'm almost certain it was a Rattata.

Pikachu in pokemon blue, named it "Thunder" if I recall...

Mine was a pidgey on Yellow. I raised it to a lv. 76 Pidgeot and thought it was the best pokemon ever, I bragged to everyone about it. lol

Mine was probably a Rattata. I put it in the Box after I decided it was an ugly Ratticate. Red Version graphics weren't that great.

A Pidgey. It was the flyer of my first team. I caught it above Cerulean, i think, since it was around that time i learned how to buy and use Pokeballs.

I probably ran into a Sentret first, and subsequently caught it as my first pokemon.(my first game was gold)

Other than the starter, which obviously doesn't count, my first caught Pokemon was Pikachu. I really did wait until that point just to get one - anime was all the rage to us then.
