I didn't see any threads like this one so I decided to start one. What are you training for JAA and what have you already raised? Whether your in the regular event to qualify for the Video Game National Championships qualification round, or the Video Game National Championships qualification round itself, or even the Video Game National Championships. *Huff*

In short what team are you using for JAA, all parts that you will go to?

Are the shinies hax0red? Is that why? Meh, I hax0red in my old sapphire file, but not anymore. My team is 2 Legendaries and 2 Uber legendaries, yup I'm cheap. I'll at least be able to beat some n00bs. Like I did with PRA Boston, with no battle on the big screen*sigh*.

At the Rocks America Tournament I used Mewtwo, Sceptile, and Charizard. But now since they're double battles, I have to choose four. I haven't decided yet, but I'm getting a well balanced team this time with maybe a Dusclops for defense. I'm still using my Mewtwo, and possibly Sceptile. I probably won't end up using my Charizard again.

Nope, here are the details of their capture:

Mewtwo - Caught LeafGreen. 3 soft resets!
Umbreon - Shiny Eevee hatched on Emerald. 501st egg (Kept count via Box)
Shuckle - Captured yesterday in the Safari Zone on Emerald.

And I just wanna show off my shinies. They're all quite low leveled ('cept Mewtwo - level 94), but by the time June rolls around they may be level 100 each, in which case I'll use 'em. But I only have those 5 above at level 100 currently.

I learned my lesson with Charizards, not good. Hey did anyone run into any shinies at any competitive battling event? PRA, JAA so far Etc.? I ran into a shiny Charizard in the final round of PRA Boston. Thats about it though.

Edit: Why don't you train your Mewtwo? It'll be good to use. It would also be good to show off as well. I'm training my Quaza myself.

Hey!! I was in the Boston tournament!! I also saw that shiny Charizard!! I won a GBA Sp and Emerald since I won the big screen and mini-tournament thing with the four rounds. I used Mewtwo (With 399 Sp.Atk), Sceptile, and Charizard.

If I do compete, I'm not going to use any legendaries. I think this was a bad idea to include those pokemon, but anyone who trains correctly should be able to take down newbies with legendaries (vs. experts with legendaries - that's just cheap).

Ruby: Sonic-Cult(Dragon, Flying), Dark-Doom the Jrichi Destroyer(Dark, Fire), Raikou, Blastoise, Mewtwo, and Meganium All LVL100 without rare candy.

Neat choices everyone! I'm still training Quaza, 10 Levels to go. My only shiny is my shiny Sceptile, he is not very good for double battles though. He is LV.100 though.

Shedy is perfect for taking down Kyogres which all n00bs use because they don't know the awsomeness that is groudon.

I think Kyogres are better than Groudons, why? Its simple...

1. It's ability drought complements Fire attacks and Solarbeam, which Groudon makes little use of because of low special attack.

2. Earthquake can KO your partner if your not thinking right.

3. Kyogre can KO Groudon with quite a few different attacks.

4. Low speed rarely lets its speed to pass anything, unless its a Jolly Groudon, or Quick Claw Groudon.

Kyogre has Flaws too, I'm just looking for Sp. attack. That is what I focus on really. Groudons can be used properly, then they can be used well, baton pass some stat ups, swords dance groudy etc. He is good, I just prefer Kyogre.

Me too... remember they also had the Shiny Mew and Ho-Oh as well? You were the one with the Craudaunt, Steelix, and the other one correct?

A lot of people think Groudon is the best pokemon ever! Its way better with team mates Kyo. Heres a couple reasons Hes so much better especially at double battles.

-Kyogre's trait only helps itself and other Water/Electric pokemon on the the team. You already have Kyogre as a water pokemon, why would you want to overload your team with more of them? You are asking for your whole team to be easily countered by Blissey. Just for the reference, a Blissey with Special Defense can take on Kyogre. Defense EVs are too risky to sacrifice in the uber metagame... Also, Shedinja ****s up Kyogre something awful. Hope you have Spikes, and Skarmory/Cloyster won't last in the uber metagame.

In comparison, Groudon's trait helps itself and any Grass or Fire pokemon you have. If you are afraid of Sunnybeamers, use Rayquaza. Ground, Grass and Fire surely is a more diverse team than EXCESSIVE Water and Electric. Just a side note, Metagross with a Sunny Day up SCREWS stuff in the ***. The common counter for Metagross is either a Water pokemon or Skarmory... Sunny Day lets you release a STAB HP Fire to Skarmory, and Water pokemon can't hit you nearly as hard with Sunny Day up.

-Kyogre only has Calm Mind, Groudon has Swords Dance. Kyogre only hurts when the Rain is out... Rain or Shine, a Swords Danced Groudon Earthquake WILL **** you up.
