What's so special about the Ash/Paul rivalry?

Anyway Paul's training method was the exact opposites of Ash and deemed "cruel" by everyone else in the show yet he was still beating Ash.

That was one thing about the Satoshi and Shinji rivalry that always seemed ironic to me. According to Satoshi and most viewers, Shinji's methods were incorrect, and yet he was still getting good results. Not only that, but other than his old Hikozaru, all of Shinji's Pokemon loved him despite his tough training regimens.

It's more questionable with Charizard in base form because it has no impressive feats shown on screen without the keystone,but if we go by how powerful it is in MCX it should be respectfully stronger than Paul's Torterra/Ash's Charizard in it's base form but not by a huge gap.

Ash's oshawott was such a beast that it was even able to onesot a dewott its evolved form and cilan's pansage (agym leader's ace) after getting his b**t kicked (or in his case shell kicked) the entire time. But he was adorable so he is a cute best.

So anyway, power levels can't be measured right in written form in this anime. To this day, I think Paul's Ursaring is broken.

Struggled a lot against Barry's Hitmonlee and also lost to Ash's Chimchar. Buizel, Staraptor and Pikachu all took quite some damage before Ursaring battled them in the Lake Acucity battle. It's powerful sure, but not broken.

To this day, I think Paul's Ursaring is broken.

It was unable to escape Paul's pokeball after being Flamewheeled by Chimchar,ever since that day it immensely got stronger through Paul's rigorous training system.

The move Bulk Up increases one's Attack/Defense,the ability Guts
increases one's attack power.

Paul's Training + Bulk Up + Guts = Absolute Beast

True but keep in mind that not every Elite Four trainer are the same,they all vary in power.

Paul's Torterra may not be able to defeat an Elite Four Ace pokemon currently but it has a lot of potential to do so just as Paul has a lot of potential to become an Elite Four/Frontier Brain because they both will continue to grow stronger.

Yeah didn't stop the broken Ursaring from getting owned by Chimchar multiple times over (including a straight up 1 vs 1).

Paul's Torterra may not be able to defeat an Elite Four Ace pokemon currently but it has a lot of potential to do so just as Paul has a lot of potential to become an Elite Four/Frontier Brain because they both will continue to grow stronger.

Well it doesn't really matter what potential he holds in future but currently he would get destroyed by E4 whereas alain's MCX did beat E4.
