If all 3, Absol or Gengar.

Since you said Mightyena or Gengar, Gengar.

Gengar. After that, use absol for its high attack.

Gengar > Absol > Mightyena

Use Gengar. If not, then use Absol. A good moveset for Gengar (at least I think), is: Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Destiny Bond, and Shadow Ball or Shadow Punch or Confuse Ray.

If you want a special-based pokemon, go with Gengar, as it has high sp.attack, and like said before, McIcegar is the best set for him.
But if you want a more physical-based poke, then Absol's the pokemon for you. ^_^

I wouldn't use Mightyena, as he has much lower stats than Gengar and Absol, and he isn't nearly as versitile as the other two, especially Gengar.

Gengar all the way. Mightyena is useless, and Absol's spc. attack is teh sucks. The only thing it can damage Gengar with is shadow ball, and Gengar can do all sorts of things to it before then. It can put it to sleep, trap it, play around with it, etc. Gengar is the clear winner among the 3.

But it just depends on what kind of team you want. But gengar can also make a pretty good physical sweeper also. Along w/ a stab'ed shadow ball and sludge bomb, etc., it can go all out on most other teams.

I would go with Gengar. It can learn some special attacks, and has a good special attack stat.It is The most unpredictable Pokémon in the game, no questions asked. It has an awesome movepool and the stats to use it. 3 immunities and 4x resistance to Bug and Poison make him easy to switch in. Gengar is probably the best Ghost Pokémon in the game.
If it is in D/P versions,it can probably be better, because shadow ball and Sludge bomb will also be special based.
Abosl is good for physical sweeping,as he has Swords dance.

Mightyena is totally useless.

Absol and Mightyena suck like AIDS.

Gengar has three immunities.

You figure it out.

Use Gengar it rox. BUt I would use Absol because I'm obsessed with it, it looks so sexy, and it has a giant moveset but so does Gengar.
