What's the chance of getting in a Battle?

Like when I'm walking through wild grass, how much of a chance do I have of getting in a battle each step I take?

It varies a lot: flute, first Pokemon, rotue, cave, etc. Try Google ;D

It depends if you used an item like a Black or White Flute. On average, maybe, umm. . . .10%-30%? I`m not so sure.

It all depends on where you are. Some places (like caves), will have more encounters than the ocean.

It depends on whether or not you want to face wild pokémon. If you don't it's like 50%, if you do it's like 5%. >_<

Ok for the reality: It depends on where you are. Each area has an "encounter rate" assigned to it. I'm not sure of the exact relation between the number and the actual chance. It could be percentage per step, or something completely different. What I do know is the higher the number, the more often you find wild pokémon. I also know that the Safari Zone has the highest of all encounter rates.

The best example that it varies where you are is Underwater and Cave.

Oh, and if you use sweet scent, THEN it´s 100%!

I think some places like Victory Road have a higher encounter rate

i think it's random because sometimes i find one every other step but othertimes it seems like there are none (and i wasnt using repels)
