What's The Point In A Pokedex?

Heart

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
The Pokedex maybe gets all the info during the time you battle the wild Pokemon? It's probably automatic or something, so you won't have to do anything at all. And when all the data is recorded, the info is sent to the Professor? Just guessing. xD

Of the the years of pokemon, couldn't Oak make a pokedex that can scan the pokemon when it is moving?

Do you have any idea how hard it would be to do something like that? We're talking about scanning them at a celluar level or so, something that basically requires someone to stand still and preferably be small.

You may as well ask "after all these years of existence, you'd think scientists would be able to examine the inner workings of an animal while it's moving" or "after all this time yuo'd think doctors would eb able to perform surgery on moving targets".

there actually a tracking device in ur pokedex, that's why everyone knows where you are.

Probabaly because it can sent info and pictures to the professor and not send pokemon. Why would Oak keep working on new pokedexes? Because the pokedex doesn't know how many pokemon there are. Neither does Oak.

How else would you learn about the new pokemon if not for a pokedex? And we can't be unfair to the older pokemon and say they don't deserve to be in it as well, so you just scan everything you come across for the first time.

When you get a national pokedex, you can see data on more pokemon. Why can't the pokemon data get registered with a regular pokedex? Keep in mind that you are getting the data for the pokemon.

I believe that in the English version of the second Pokemon Special Manga, when Red is in the Safari Zone and is about to get eaten by a Victreebel, the Pidgebot talks about how the Bellsprout evolve, when Red tells it to save it for the Pokedex.

So yeah, the 10-year old does know Oddish's Latin name and all that jazz.

Arcane Of The Wild
giovanni in the anime has a machine to scan pokemon moves and information on pokemon update over the years hence the constant updating of the pokedex. Kanto for red was the first pokedex

To get extensive data on pokemon from around the world, at least that's what Prof. Oak told me :D.

You have to help the professors to collect info so they can conduct research, because they are too lazy haha, except some of the older ones like Oak.

Let's go to the beach, each.
It's just a convenient source for information of the Pokemon variety. That's all.

Oh god..Ok, Firstly the main point of a pokedex is it scans pokemon data while battling a pokemon. So if you want to catch a certain kind of pokemon you can always go back into the pokedex and look for the information about the pokemon you want to catch. And in the other reason, Pokedex was added to trigger some events or special events. How? Well, When you complete a pokedex in a game the first thing you do is run to the professor and show it to him yeah? And when show a completed pokedex it unlocks/triggers some new events yeah?
