What's the problem with Legendaries?

Now this is my first post here and I may be missing some deeply held Pokecode but I find the use of uber pokemon in battle perfectly acceptable. I wish to know why many players find their use irritating, everyone has a fair chance of catching them and they're in every game, I fail to see the problem.

I, for one, do not have a problem with them. They are PKMN and like every other they can be defeated.

I could imagine that the reason as to why many people are annoyed by them is that their teams are often weak against these legendary PKMN.

It's like using the same move in a fighting game, it may get you the win but it's like winning as a rookie. In pokemon games people consider winning with legendaries as nothing but when you win with a team with no legendaries then it is like your a good trainer. That is why people find it irritating.

I suppose because ubers require a lot less skill to use. They have high stats, the majority have excellent movepools, some can recover, others can wall, more can sweep after a single stat-up move.

I guess there is an element of unfairness to the people who have raised their non-legendaries really well and get their whole wiped by a Mewtwo or whatever.

But as previously stated, they're like any other Pokemon. None of them are invicible, they can all be defeated one way or another.

the problem with legendaries is that it only makes the game easyer. so thats not a challenge anymore. and with no challenge, the game would be boring.

I personally don't like using legedaries. In a way, it makes me feel like I'm cheating because the Legendaries are usually stronger than other normal pokemon. Therefore giving me or someone else an unfair advantage. This is a problem on Netbattle. A lot of people use legendaries there and it gives there teams an unfair advantage.

Hush, keep it down
I've no argument with 00bers or regular legendaries. I do like to usually do things the Frontier/Orre Colosseum way, yes, but in link battles I will never hesitate to pull a Mewtwo, a Kyogre, a Groudon....(or all three at once for Double Battles!)

My link battle philosophy is to never show any mercy to your opponent. If you are meant to lose against the person, they will take you down even if you do have 00bers.

I believe it takes a little bit of the challenge away and I hate how some are only available via special events (Deoxys for example)

Thanks everyone, I think I'll have to train two seperate squads, a legendary no-holds-barred team and a non-uber team for Battle Frontier etc.

Thats an excellent idea...thats what I do on my games...well usually ill train several squads. But I always have one squad with my legendaries that I use against people who also use legendaries...usually just my friends. And I have a normal poke squad that I've taken a lot more care in training....

I see no problem with the use of legendaries/Uber poke's...if you like em use em...they are pokemon jsut like any other just...way cooler heh.

I disagree. I use Legendaries in the Battle Frontier and I still have a heck of a time. I love Legendaries, I find most of them very appealing appearance-wise and if I like a Pokemon, I'll use it regardless of what anyone else thinks. Even if you use them, I still think the game retains its strategy, especially in the Battle Frontier.

I don't like using 'em. It cheapens your hard won victories. In fact, I try not to use semilegendaries, even though most have no problem with 'em. It feels good winning with good, honest, normal Pokemon.

I like legendaries, but I don't like using them. It could be the whole making-things-easier thing that they do, or it could be that they don't appeal to me much. I'd rather use my trained Pokemon.

I also dislike the use of uber pokemon. Most of them can knock out a normal pokemon with just one hit. What fun is that? It makes normal pokemon seem like there no even worth getting cause ubers more then likely whoop them.

Here's the deal: there's no problem with using Legends when it comes to in-game purposes. Use anything you want, though it's certainly funner and more challenging to use regular Pokémon.

When it comes to battles with other people, you have to come to an agreement. Normally, anything goes. However, certain Legends are in a class of their own. They're way too strong to make up fair competition against underdog Pokémon. The agreement tends to be 00bers only in 00ber Battles, and Legends are allowed elsewhere.

I'm fine with people using 1 00ber in a non-00ber Battle, and any weaker Legends they feel like using. As for me, bleah. Legends bore me down...

The reason why people have a problem with 00bers is because they're cheap. They have enourmous base stats, with even there lowest stat being atleast 90, and many of them have ujnrealistic movepools, giving them an unfair advantage over everything >___>
I'm not a competetive battler, but even I suffer from 00bers. Because of all the n00bs that worship them. ''OMG11111 Gr0d0n 1z $0 k3wL lolololz1111111111'' T3h annoying 0___o

Let's compare shall we?
Now, take a heracross. It's base stats are:
Hp-80
Attack-125
Defence-75
Special Attack-40
Special Defence-95
Speed-85
Not bad, right? (Base stats are approximately what the pokemon's stats are when it is at level 40, kinda.)
Now, let's take at one of the well known Legendaries. Mewtwo:
Hp-106
Att-110
Def-90
Sp. Att.-154
Sp. Def.-90
Speed-130
Heracross was killed in almost every category. It was lucky it won in the attack stat. So you see, I can painstakingly raise a heracross, giving it the best care I can, and in one move, I could get wiped out by a mewtwo that somebody just caught. Do you see the problem? If everybody used legendaries, their opponents would have to use legendaries against them to stand a chance, making every other pokemon out of the available 386 worthless, which doesn't make a very fun game. And that's why I don't like legendaries.
