What's your favorite book ?

I'm an avid reader, so I have many favorite books and novels, but my top pick would be The Catcher in the Rye.

My absolute favorite gotta be "The picture of Dorian Grey", the way it is written is pure joy, just because of the pleasure of reading.

I liked during a long time of my youth "The Stranger", but recently I've felt past my absurdist/existencialist phase and would have to revisit it to make sure I like it still.

What is the airspeed of an unladen Swellow?
I’ve read off an on a lot, and my kindle is full of books that I intend to read someday.

Top of the list of things I’ve read and that have stuck with me are:
Jurassic Park
Lord of the Flies
Red Storm Rising

Lately, I’ve also enjoyed some of the books written by Emily Henry. I’m usually not one for first-person narratives or romance novels, but the couple I read all had interesting premises, engaging writing style, heavy character focus, and weren’t poorly disguised porn (not that there is anything wrong with that…)

* The Lord of the Rings - Tolkien

* Crime and Punishment - Dostoevsky

* Dune - Herbert

* A Storm of Swords (ASOIAF Book 3) - Martin

* Jurassic Park - Crichton

* Fahrenheit 451 - Bradbury

* Da Vinci Code - Brown

* The Wheel of Time viz. Books 1-6 (before they went all over the place) - Jordan

* Harry Potter viz. PoA, HBP, DH - Rowling

* Watership Down - Adams

The Hindu itihasas, viz. the Mahabharat and the Ramayana, have flat-out epic stories too, even if there's no singular book.

You! Me! Rivals! Yes?
Collected Ghost Stories by M.R. James. I usually have it by my bedside and occasionally read a story from it before I go to sleep, and when I go travelling I often bring it with me. I never get tired of the stories in this compilation, it's quiet, subtle, Gothic horror that I wish was more common these days. Some of my favourites include Lost Hearts, A View from a Hill, Oh Whistle and I'll Come to You My Lad, A School Story, The Residence at Whitminster, and A Warning to the Curious. I've even recently named a Hisuian Zorua "Montague" (M.R. James's first name) as an homage to this.
