Hey, here's a really neat typing test I came across: http://www.typingtest.com/test/default.asp Try it and post your high scores! Here're mine:

Fishing for Finland: WPM (not gross): 76, accuracy: 98%

Wizard of Oz: WPM: 68, accuracy: 98%

This is relevant because.................................maybe find a correlation between proliferate authors and typing speed??? Just trying to make it relevent when really i just want to know how fast people type.

Oh yeah, and the winner gets a prize!

It'll be hard for everyone else to know considering they don't know the site.

You guys are pretty good. 85's? That's crazy. Keep 'em comin', the prize will be spectacular if anyone can get to 95.

Shouldn't this be in some other forum? Ah well, I did Fishing in Finland, 100% accuracy, 70 WPM. I suck ^^; Course, I'm only 13...

Other forum? Yeah right, this is everyone's chance to see how fast their favorite authors type!

These aren't very accurate, IMO. When you know what you're typing, you undoubtedly do it faster. My first try was like 60 WPM because I had to keep looking up, but my last one was 87 WPM, because I'd pretty much memorized it.

Test: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
Best Gross Speed: 87 WPM
Accuracy with this speed: 90%

No doubt, no doubt. You said you had to "keep looking up"? Do you look at the keyboard while you type?

Maybe this is why LC sucks so much. XP *shot by LC readers.*

I got 36 WPM on Tigers in the Wild. Only it said my accuracy was 0% oO; Caps lock wasn't on, and there's no way I made THAT many errors. >>

On The wonderful World of Oz, I got Net Speed 37, and 90% accuracy.

God, I suck. XP Course, my typing is just 00ber chicken pecking. XP

Hahahaha. Well, that's all right, Chib-meister. You can get the spirit award once the PRIZE winners have been determined. 'Cause there is a prize...

Eh, I only tried it once. I got a bit flustered at the end since my WPM was dropping, so I accumulated more errors as time went on.

Test: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
GWAM: 104
Acc: 79%

Eh. Not bad. On a good day I hover around 112 GWAM.

Wizard of Oz: Net Speed 52 WPM and 96% accuracy.

Sort of. I know where the keys are, but I don't type correctly, so sometimes my hands get all out of place and I have to look down. Like, this sentence I types without looking down. One typo, but still. I should probably learn correct positioning and stuff, but whatever.

I also didn't mean 'looking up' as much as I meant 'having to reread it to make sure I was getting all of the words and in the right order.' Oh, I'm a crappy typist. So sue me x)

I flunk. Like Act, I don't type correctly, so I have to keep looking down and up again. I should take a typing class...
