When to use stat ups

Double_Edge

Cool Lander
I was wondering when it would be a good time to use items like carbos, calcium, etc on Pokemon? Because sometimes when I use it it doesnt raise the stat or it just goes up by one. And how come most high level pokemon cant eat them?

Could someone tell me if my Pikachu has inferior stats?
lvl 32 lax nature
atk: 45
def: 38
sp atk: 38
sp def: 36
speed: 78

Those stats seem really low compared to my other pokemon of the same level. For def, spdef and sp atk my other 32's have 41 minimum, so I wanted to ask that.

I also had another really important question but I cant rmeember it righ tnow so I might ask again later.

Somebody help T^T

EDIT: i rmeember my other question now. Are grass attacks sp. atk or just regular attack? because I wanna know if I should keep growth on my bulbasaur.

EDITEDIT: Also, what do the terms "EV" and "STAB" mean? You guys always use it and stuff.

EV -> effort value -> points earned by battling wild guys/stat uppers

stat uppers should be applied to the stats you want to EV train... there is a guide on the main site under game mechanics about ev training...

STAB - > same type attack bonus, a water pokemon uses a water move its power is multiplied by 1.5

1. the vitamins have to do with EV's and pikachu will naturally get better stats when u evolve it withthe thunderstone, which you shouldnt do until lvl 50
2. grass attacks are special atks
3. EV= effort value, EV's are special points that give ur pokemon more of a certain stat, read more about it on the game mechanics page on http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-rs/ev.shtml
3. A) STAB=Same Type Attack Bonus, it means that when a poke'mon uses an attack thats the same type as itself then it gets STAB'd damage, which is when you multiply the attack damage your doing by 1.5 and thats your base attack
EX: squirtle uses bubble on weedle bubble does 40 normally but since squirtle is water like bubble 40x1.5=60 then bubble does 60 instead of 40

good to know your game is goin well and i would either switch pikachu for electabuzz since it can be better than pikachu

poison atks are based on attk not the other

to stay on topic put it in sp. att
