You are probably right. I think mabye evolve one of those he have before he catch a new one.

Starting with the Cynthia episode, it will be post-Movie 10...meaning you an now expect captures/evolutions.

Ihope in that Cynthia episode,she gives him a riolu egg. Then it will hatch just in time for the 3rd battle

I think maybe an evo before the thrid gym (Aipom to Ambipom...makes sense Aipom has been in Ash's team the longest sans Pikachu).
And then maybe Ash will catch something before or after the fourth gym. Before the fifth gym, maybe Turtwig will evolve. Then, if going by the games then I'll suspect Ash having a Riolu before the sixth gym.

I'm thinking Aipom evolves around the fourth gym, then gets shafted around the sixth and comes back to battle the Hokage's Etebossu.

My prediction:
Aipom evolves before Veilstone.
New capture on the way to Pastoria.
Turtwig evolves before Hearthome.
Aipom evolves before Veilstone.

I think that someone will evolve before the next gym. So whichever Pokémon hes likely to use in the next gym; probably Aipom, Staravia and possibly Pikachu (more likely than Turtwig seeing as it'd be the exact team as the last gym). And out of them Aipom is the most likely to evolve.

Staravia will evolve after the fifth Gym battle, but before Iron Island.
Turtwig will evolve before the 5th gym Battle, but most likely after the 4th.

Is the egg thing confirmed? I've been hearing so much speculation about this? If this happen Paul will get pawned hard by Ash LOL. And with the evolutions Ash will have the best team by the end of the season.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but if this were to happen wouldn't this be the first time one Ash's pokes evolved during a gym battle? I can recall quite a few times when the opposing gym leaders pokemon evolved (Sabrina's Abra to Kadabra, Brawly's Makuhita to Hariyama, etc) but I'm pretty sure he's never had one of his team evolve in an official gym battle. Either way, it would be cool to see this during the D/P saga, regardless of which of his pokemon it occurs to.
