Where do you think Let's Go fits in the timeline? Or rather do you think this is a new timeline?

You're confusing timelines and universes. ORAS did imply that each game is a different universe, but there are only 2 speculated timelines. I'm bad at analogies so I won't butcher the English language trying but multiple universes can fit in a timeline but only one timeline can contain a universe... if that makes sense.

Of course Game freak don't give a hoot about timelines anyway really. They confirmed where roughly everything lies in the OG timeline but they dont seem to care about the (dubious) mega timeline.

It doesn't. The only reason to make a distinction between a timeline and a universe is if time travel is involved, like DBZ. Otherwise there's no functional difference.

Anyway, I think people focus way too much on the multiverse stuff. Or they focus too much on one specific split in the the multiverse, that being the Mega split, when there's no reason to put it above any other split. There's a universe where Ruby happened, a universe where Sapphire happened, a universe where Black happened, a universe where White happened, etc etc. Hell, you have Sun and Moon, which are clearly two alternate universes, but then you have Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon which are alternate universes of the original two alternate universes.

It's not really relevant in terms of broad strokes timeline placement, though. I think Gamefreak's intention is that the broad strokes events of each game happen in all the universes, just with some variations such as the existence of Mega evolution or whether or not Black City exists or White Forest or whatever else, so all that really matters is when they each happen chronologically. Which is this:

    1. Gen 1 and Gen 3

    2. LGP and LGE

    3. Gen 2 and Gen 4

    4. BW

    5. B2/W2

    6. Gen 6

    7. Gen 7

This is pretty straightforward, based on how the characters cross over between the different games. Complicating it any further is just a waste of time, because it's putting more thought into things than Gamefreak themselves.

Simple, alternate timeline! Besides the Meltan line, Alolan formes and Gen 1 Pokemon, no other Pokemon exists.

    1. No other Pokemon is seen or used outside of the aforementioned Pokemon.

    2. Pokemon with (pre)evolutions introduced in other generations can not evolve or breed into those Pokemon.

I say it should be it's own timeline

I would say the timeline is:

    1. RGBY/FRLG/LGPE/RSE/ORAS
    2. GSC/HGSS/DPPT
    3. BW1
    4. BW2/XY
    5. SMUSUM

However each save file is its own universe...

This is a new timeline considering you just did Red's journey except you're not Red.

That doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a new timeline because don't forget the fact that we never saw the Pokemon Red and Blue/Green versions of the Mega Evolution timeline outside of Pokemon Origins before, and it can be argued that Origins doesn't really count since it's technically in a separate media and thus a separate cannon then the games meaning it might not be what definitely happened in the Mega Evolution universe when it comes to pokemon Red and Blue/Green.

This all meaning is that Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee could easily take place in the Mega Evolution timeline and it could easily be a case of where while in the original timeline Red was the one to beat Giovanni, while in the Mega Evolution universe the events of Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee happened in place of that. If you look at it there is really no reason why Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee can't be part of the Mega Evolution timeline other then some people thinking that Red had to be the one to beat Giovanni in the Mega Evolution timeline like he did in the original timeline when that doesn't necessarily have to be the case.

There is one problem to that theory though.

Pokémon Trainer Red distinctively has black hair and a different skin color compared to his Sun and Moon counterpart:

It is not just Red that indicates it's a new universe. You'd think that if Mina were the same one from SM, she'd say something about Pokemon being caught differently between the two regions.

Currently of the mindset this is the "Gen I" for the Mega Evolution timeline, where we start our journey after Red & Green already did theirs, and therefore didn't encounter Team Rocket

Problem is mina is look like in her mid-teen in let's go pikachu and eevee and in sumu/usum trial captain is only 11-19th is allowed .that mean she in mid-30-40's in the sun and moon .

You find out pretty early on it's it's own timeline which is good if it becomes a sub series

The fact Red has his black hair back and isn't brown like it is in FRLG/HGSS/USM seems to support we're in a different timeline...

It’s also black in BW2 though, so...

Lovely, three timelines to keep track of now

    Four if you count PokéSpe

Pokemon special manga don't count or then we have to count Pokemon anime show as well !

No. Red's hair from Gen III onward (except Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee) has always been brown. It only looks black because it's very, very far away and Red has no official artwork in Gen IV and V.

How she looks is subjective, and I disagree - furthermore, though, the Alola games absolutely do not take place that long after Kanto.

That’s some really specific and nitpicky evidence, though. Like, it’s just some shading differences.

Team Rocket isn't disbanded. Therefore, this doesn't happen after Red, Blue, Green and Yellow.

Also, the new protagonist is the one who defeats Giovanni at Silph Co. and helps Cubone's mom to move on to the after-life instead of Red.
Therefore, this isn't the same universe.

Yeah, now that I've seen more of the game, it's very obvious that this takes place in the same part of the timeline as R/B/Y/FR/LG but with a different set of circumstances.
