Where is Eevee Going? To the End of the World for the Sake of a Meeting! (1042)

Aren't only Shiron and Nagisa nicknamed though for main characters?
If they wanted to differentiate it from Ilima's Eevee then I think that Lana's Eevee was nicknamed for that reason. And yes, so far they're both the only ones that are nicknamed.

Dammit, the bangs gave me the impression Eevee was drunk whenever he blushed. Why cut them at all?

Screw you, Dewpider. You were so incompatible with Lana. You deserved to rot in a little pond. (Not really. This capture is just weird to me.)

Lmao, what a joke. Guess reserves are going to be used then for the League. Why the hell even make a league when battling is such a joke now? Are we going to get Cameron levels of stupidity with Ash going to into the league with 4 Pokemon and only 2 of them fully evolved(including Pikachu)?

Whatever

What was the hype for if Eevee was intended to give Lana? It would make sense if Lillie got it, but Lana out of all the possibilities? Shame.

Lillie would have kept it as Eevee just like Ash's Pikachu, as a nice reference to LGPE starters not being able to evolve. Or, it could have been used to promote what is coming for Generation 8 Eeveeloution (possibly) under Ash's guidance.

Sun/Moon was disappointing me for quite a while, but that seems to be the end point for me. It feels as bland as Black/White; no Plumeria/Guzma yet, just like no Neo Team Plasma and N post-league. We haven't gotten to see Po Town, but all Ultra Beasts were dancing around thanks to Pokémon(!) Rangers.

I hope the next generation anime would use some brainstorming session to not to repeat such mistakes again.

I was gonna say Ritchie but he's not a main character. Aren't only Shiron and Nagisa nicknamed though for main characters?

Squishy, if you really want to count befriended Pokemon.

And there's Misty and Caserin/Loverin/I forget which one she had. But that's a ma~ssive stretch since she stopped being a main character when she got that and it literally hasn't been seen since its debut.

If she evolves it into vaporeon eventually, I think I would be ok with Popplio not evolving. I'm already annoyed that Rowlet will never evolve and Vulpix will probably not evolve either. right now, there's only waiting for torracat and maybe charjabug. A vaporeon would be nice.

Well, I'll be! The writers didn't forget about Lana and her lack of a team change in nearly 100 episodes! I'll be honest: I'm a little surprised the writers decided to give Eevee to Lana, rather than to one of the other main characters, such as Ash or Lillie. While there hasn't been any concrete evidence that Lana is specifically a Water type Trainer, her great interest in and love for the ocean gave me the impression that she would prefer a Water type over any other type. It makes me wonder what the writers' plans are for Lana and/or Eevee.

Taking into account the events of the episode itself, however, I'm not at all surprised Lana caught Eevee. As soon as the episode began with Lana at home, I had a feeling that if anyone caught Eevee, it would be her. Eevee and Popplio's adventures throughout the episode solidified that impression. The carefree, fun-loving Eevee should be an interesting foil to the dutiful, slightly neurotic Popplio. It will be interesting to see how Eevee—or, rather, how Nagisa does under Lana's tutelage.

Was anyone else reminded of the starter trio episode? Popplio and Nagisa working together to escape first the Alolan Persian and then Team Skull reminded me of Litten escorting Popplio and Rowlet back to their Trainers.

It'll be lucky to even get to do that, since I really don't see it getting much screen time.
On the contrary, Nagisa is guaranteed screen time, if for no other reason than to promote LGPE. One could argue that the fact that Lana caught Nagisa more or less guarantees Lana will get more screen time, since she is Nagisa's Trainer.

People who feared Ash catching Eevee might mean Eevee would usurp focus from Ash's other Pokémon, or that Ash would be less likely to end up with more evolved Pokémon on his team, should be relieved Ash didn't catch Eevee. Personally, I'm just glad someone actually caught Eevee, rather than it being a class pet or an unofficial/temporary capture.

All these assumptions simply based on the fact that Ash didn't catch Eevee in this episode? Just because Ash didn't catch Eevee doesn't mean he won't end up with a full team of six Pokémon (including Pikachu) by the time the League rolls around. Just because Ash didn't catch Eevee doesn't mean the League is going to be a joke, or that we're going to get "Cameron levels of stupidity." I get that people are upset Ash didn't catch Eevee, since he is long overdue for an addition to his team, but these assumptions are going a little overboard, aren't they? :/

No it doesn't sure, but we don't have a ton of time left till the League and they need to showcase 2 captures if Poiple doesn't come back and evolutions. That's gonna be hard.

The assumptions are made of the fact that SM doesn't put a focus on battles, has a short amount of time, and is a comedic series. That is all

The funny part is apparently this seemed to be last straw for most people to quit the show.

Ash loosing the Kalos league - nah
Ash releasing Greninja - nah
Serena leaving Ash - nah
SM redesign - nah
Ash isn't going to catch an Eevee - As Joseph Joestar said - OH MY GOD

Why assume that? Every controversial action would be the last straw for someone.

Assuming of course they don't return for more.

And let's not forget it's way past due for another capture in a very long time.

Seeing the reactions online it apparent that this is kinda of a turning point for most people, even people who had previously being fans of the series and now pissed. And compared to the Eevee thing most of the other situations kinda warrant the backlash the show is reciving now, due to how big it was. Ash and Greninja hyped up to high heaven going to the final looses and that Pokemon that brough him their getting abandonded.

You're acting like Poipole did any noteworthy battling pre-departure...Even if he returns, it's not like he had anything to show for it before.

You know, if Satoshi were to take back a former companion to join him for the League, I would think Solgaleo would make far more sense, being the one that A: is actually powerful, and B: didn't specifically exit the series by going "I must stay here, for my people need me". Heck, they never even gave a reason for why Solgaleo left.

...But considering how many episodes are left, I find it more likely that the League will just be 3-on-3 battles, and that they'll include the kids' Ride Pokémon in the lineup. I mean they have battled with those before, so it's not like it's out of the question that they could bring them to the League.

In fairness Ash having Nebby, as in a LEGENDARY, would be an EXTREMELY unfair advantage.

Ash maybe using Garchomp wouldn't be a bad compromise, especially since the writers bothered to give it a bit of personality and bonding time.

Last series they gave him a super special unique snowflake Pokémon whose power was implied to pretty much be legendary-tier as well, so it's not like it's entirely out of the question. Not that I actually expect them to let him go into the League with Solgaleo on his team, but if they wanted to just give us a quick and easy solution for giving him a full team without having to develop a whole new Pokémon for him, the option is always there.

Yeah, but that's because they use Ash to advertise new Pokemon and the only Kalos Pokémon with a Mega is Diancie and that was clearly out of the question. They hyped up Megas to be super powerful and managed to screw themselves out of giving Ash one by having him be the one to catch only new Pokémon.

I found FrozTKnight post funny because when I saw on YouTube the Kalos League outcome and the SM redesign were disliked alot to the point that even some old fans quit the show, compared to Lana's Eevee capture. As for those who stayed and still constantly hating on SM, they're just looking for attentions by spamming their rants, mocking those who cared about SM and I would ignore them at best.

IIRC Datamines confirmed there was going to be another pair of kalos games, so even if they were released in 2015 and the show had the same amount of time as it ended up having, it was probably originally planned for ash's greninja to mega evolve

I loved this episode! I don't mind that Eevee went to Lana, she was way overdue for a 2nd Pokémon ever since they teased Dewpider. This Eevee will definitely become Vaporeon in the future, it makes perfect sense. Oh, Popplio is hilarious, her facial reactions to everything that happened were priceless. It's a shame she isn't more prominent because she would be a queen.

That episode with Dewpider really was a waste of time, you can't argue against that anymore. "Hey, let's ignore that Dewpider we set up and give Lana a capture that would easily fill up one of Ash's remaining slots"

And to top it off, they gave it a god awful haircut(It should have stayed the way it was, it was cute) and an even worse nickname than the dub gave Shiron. Shore.... ugh!
And it shouldn't be a surprise what it'll evolve into since Lana got it.
