Which version of the Nintendo DS is compatible with most Pokemon games?

Pokédex Complete!
Well, the Nintendo DS lite is the best if you want to play the third generation games, and allow the use of pal park, whereas the DSi (and the XL) allows extra features in Pokemon Black and White, and compatable with more levels of internet security.

As of yet, the 3DS is a rather poor system for pokemon games, as it has poor resolution playing DS games and doesn't grant anything the others don't at the moment, but obviously this won't be the case for much longer.

Buy a 3ds if you want to future proof yourself, since i highly doubt anymore pokemon games will come out for the ds.

^ What he said. If you have GBA Pokemon games, get this for sure.

something or other
DS Lite for the amount of games, DSi, DSi XL or 3DS for best use of games.

Your question should be which DS model is actually still relevant. The DS and DS Lite are things of the past. Only the DSi (XL) and the 3DS are relevant. Both support the DS games perfectly. The resolution when playing DS games isn't nearly as troublesome as some people make it out to be, but you should see it for yourself to be sure. Keep in mind though that the DS(i) is being phased out and all attention is shifted towards the 3DS from now on. Except for that Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition SRPG, no Pokémon games will be released for the DS(i) anymore.

EDIT: basically what DarkraiMiestro said.

Do any of you think they'll make remakes of GBA games for 3DS? Or are they not needed because of trading..?

I prefer the dsi, has a camera, has internet (browser), has hatena. I am set.

They aren't needed, but there will eventually be remakes of Ruby and Sapphire.

They should make them as virtual console games.
That would mean you won't be able to trade, though, so it won't happen.

I heard pokemon games look better on the dsi. But that will soon change?
They look better considering the DSi has better colours than the DS Lite and far better colours than the DS. The DSi XL has even better colours. The 3DS's colours look as good as those of the DSi XL, but different.

Or were you talking about the actual graphics of the games?

Well thanks for telling me. I'm a newbie at gaming.

Well it depends, really. If you want to play GBA games, the DS Lite is the best. If you don't care about that, the 3DS is the best. All future main series Pokemon games will be for it, and old DS games are still playable on it with full security online functions, albeit with slightly worse graphics.

I was talking about graphics.
Well the DS games graphics are worse on the 3DS, but it doesn't really make a big difference and it's much better to get a 3DS in the long run.

PS3.

Oh wait
Do you ever put thought into your posts.
